Hello my name is Steven and new to this forum. Just inherited my daughter's 05 jeep liberty. They think it has a knock in the motor but personally I think it is the lifter's. She got another car and let me have the jeep. Once I get the title in my name I am going to try to get it fixed. Will try to post pics soon

Do you have any stored OBD2 codes or engine light on?
Can you tell where the noise is coming from? Does it sound more like a clatter or clicking noise up top or lower on the engine, knock?
Good place to start would be to remove both valve covers for an inspection.
