Good Evening Folks,

I am new to the forum and have a little electrical problem I hope you can give me some advice on. I just purchased a 2006 Liberty Limited for my daughter who will be turning 16 soon.

On the way home I noticed (I was following my wife & daughter) the running light on the passenger side was not burning and both brake lights were out. I replaced both bulbs and the brake lights were restored without any problems, but the running light on the passenger side was still not working. I took my DVM and determined what contact point should be supplying the voltage from the working side. No voltage, at the contact point or directly from the pin on the connector.

Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated.
Looking forward to learning more about this Jeep.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum!
Lots of great people here who will do their best to help.
Im new here as well.
I can only offer to maybe try and probe the wire back
an inch or so to see if you have voltage there.
Im thinking maybe the wire broke right at the connector.

Keep the thread updated with any progress,
and once again,
Welcome.

I am not too sure what a "running light" is....is it the tail light?

Either way you need to check all the fuses....in the fuse box under the hood and on the fuse panel inside the cabin.....the wiring diagrams will give you a good indication of what fuses are involved here.

When you were checking for voltage....were you using the ground on the bulb socket as reference or using a clean chassis point as your ground? Obviously if the ground on the socket is common to other filaments on that bulb that do work then the ground point is not relevant.

Is this a Gasser or the 2006 CRD?

Download the 2006 Service manual here...includes the wiring diagrams which will enable you to identify which fuses are involved and will let you trace back on the wiring to see where your voltage has gone missing:
