Need opinions on an issue I experienced twice with an 02 liberty sport

I have an 02 jeep liberty with about 134,000 miles and about 2 years ago I was out grabbing something to eat I get back in the car close the door and turn the key. To my dismay all the electronics failed and I heard a faint clicking from the back sounded like the glass release I proceed to try and pull the fuse to see if I can bypass the circuit, but it was too late jumping wouldn't even get the car going battery had to be replaced.

Unfortunately at the time I didn't have the money to replace the latch not to mention I think the battery may have had something to do with it as well, because it was the original battery and probably needed to be replaced anyway.

Since both electrical malfunctions my radio starts powercycling on its own I don't loose any settings or the clock, but if I am playing a cd it does not remember where it left off. Just a couple of months ago I had the same thing happen now mind you the battery is about 2 years old give or take a couple of months and the battery was a total loss, being the symptoms were the same I pop the panel off the back and proceed to disconnect the latch mechanism the mechanic at the shop tested both the alternator and the battery alternator passed battery didn't, so they were going to do a load test.

I told them to reconnect the glass release and low and behold there was a constant 12volt draw I am about to get the glass release replaced because it seems like the solenoid went bad, but since then my radio power cycles more frequently and my air bag light comes on every once in a while.

I just want to know before I go ahead and replace the glass release mechanism that it will solve the problem how can I test the BCM to make sure there are no other underlying issues and I was thinking about replacing my radio wether or not it is damaged and was thinking about getting one of these
http://www.roadmasterusa.com/stereos_car_vr3.php mainly any one from the VRVD630 which retails for about 200 at walmart to the VRCD300USB.

The installation is pretty much straight forward and I don't need to modify anything all I have to do is get the kit, my question is I am going to need any other equipment being the liberty has 6 speakers and that has outputs for 4.

Issues with 02 liberty sport

After doing some research it and having advance auto parts running some codes and getting the same codes. Issue seems to be tied with my Body Control Module either being damaged or malfunctioning it is possible that both electrical malfunctions damaged my BCM which I hope is not the case because it is an expensive repair that I can't do myself because I don't have a DRB III to reprogram the module nor do I know where to temporarily rent one if it is even possible, so I will be calling around to getting estimates and to see if reprogramming it will do the trick.

I am experiencing the same problem and even worse, after changing the Module it turns out that the speedo and meter are not working and the car stalls from time to time...
