Mopar # for 2002 3.7 fuel filter?

As title - does anyone know this perchance? I figure i may as well change this given the engine occasionally 'misses' for no reason at all (no codes or CEL) - it has done 168k after all LOL!

Hey your from K-zoo, I'm just 45 min south of you (Holland, mi).

I see no reason why an oil filter would cause a engine to suddenly break down...I personally recommend the Purolator PUREone or the Napa Gold. Both excellent filters and probably much better (or the same, different label) than the Mopar. Also using a Syn oil will increase the life of your engine. Try Mobil 1 or AMSoil. I use Mobil 1 Full Synthetic.

EDIT: if you still want the Mopar oil filter, you can get it cheaper at this website, than your local dealer.

Ooops....yeah I don't think there are any aftermarket filters? Not sure. I would probably go with Mopar. Check out the site I linked you to in my previous post. Wow...168K miles....any major problems..I hope my Jeep lasts that long.

I do believe it has the regulator built into it, thats why its so much.

It would probably be easiest to drop the tank once it gets close to being empty to change it out. Its on the top of the tank.

Searching the 02 Parts manual I show the 3.7 fuel filter is 52100402AE.


When I searched chryslerpartdirect.com it show that Part number 52100402AE was superceded by part number 52100402AF.

The fuel filter is part of the fuel pickup which is in the gas tank.
I have read somewhere there is an access door under the rear seats but I'm not 100% sure about that.

The door is under the carpet in the cargo area. Gotta drill the rivets out of the tie-downs and take those up, take the carpet up, then tear the door open since its covered in a herculiner type stuff.

The access plate is under the carpet in the rear cargo area, the tie down loop rivets have to be drilled out to remove the carpet. Be sure to re-seal access plate upon reinstall.

I've heard sufficient unpleasant things about trying to mess about with that little hole - and as i'm swapping out the pump as a precaution as well, it's a simple tank drop for me.
