I don't know how many of you are keeping up with the news… but there are rumors that McCaslin Mountain is currently closed, and might stay that way as mandated by the DNR (Dept. of Natural Resources).

There is an effort by the folks up at McCaslin Mountain, and a call for help to try to do some trail repair. Currently, they only have this weekend in mind – Nov. 13-15. Apparently they are offering free camping, and it appears that they won't be turning anyone away.

For those that might be close to the McCaslin Mountain area… and if you're interested and have the time available… maybe check this out.
Also, pass the word along to any regional forums that you belong too. It's bad enough that we don't have much of a selection when it comes to off-road parks… we don't need the DNR to take away another one.
