I don't follow either. I follow my own Maintenance Schedule.

Oil changes every 6 months (Full snyth)
Tire rotations ever 3000 miles.
I just changed the fluids in my axles a 15,000 and probably won't do it again for a while.
Check/fill/replace other fluids and filters as needed.

Probably Do the Trans and t-case sooner or later.

Then fix things as they break (not that I had anything break)

I just follow the normal schedule, except I do the transfer case and diff lubes more often than it recommends. Also the trans fluid and filter, come to think of it. Also, I change the coolant every couple of years, and the brake fluid and steering fluid. Probably doesn't need to be done that much, but I like doing the work. :)

Follow the severe schedule and your KJ will thank you.

Mine:

Oil every 3000 miles [city driving]
Diff's & T-case every 15K miles
Transmission every 30K
Plugs every 30K
Coolant every 60K miles
Serpentine belt every 60K miles

Still have to replace the hoses and t-stat... 75K miles on the odometer and still climbing.

I just follow the OM besides the ******. It doesnt call for that till 60k but I did it at 30k and will do it again at 60k if not earlier. Maybe 45k since I do a lot of city driving.
