Interior map light housing

Hello, Im Rick, Western Australia's deep south. 2009 Jeep Liberty ( called Cherokee here in Aus ) I am trying to remove the map light housing, not replace the lamps but to replace the whole unit. all my attempts have been painful and unsuccessful. Anyone got any ideas ?

Welcome to the forum Rick. Hopefully one of our members can help with replacing the map light.
There is not a lot online about the unit removal process.
If you are willing to take the time to do some serious scrolling, to find the body section /map light, it is in the 2008 Jeep KK factory service manual. (This one is not properly indexed)
