If the alternator is rated as 136 amps, thats the max amps it will provide when you vechicle is at a specific RPM. My problem is that I need to find out if the liberty is putting out the full 136 at idle or not.

If you'd like I could throw a shunt on mine in the next week or so and grab a few measurements for you. If anyone has an EMF ammeter that would be much easier to check with.

Mine is a 160A since I have a renegade but they should be proportional to eachother.

Thanks, i am trying to determine if i need to upgrade to the 160. My batteries (two yellow tops) dont seem to get fully charged since i added my second amp. I am hoping that all i need is to upgrade the alternator.
