My 19 yr old daughter has a 04 Liberty. Yesterday she called me up and said that her horn was going off when she was inside the gym. She came out and unlocked it and started it up. the horn continued to blow, even going down the road. It went off and on a couple of times while driving. Has anyone else have this issue? She goes to college 3 hrs away and I don't want to have to worry about getting a phone call that her horn won't shut off and ran her battery dead. She's had the Jeep for over three years and never had this issue.

Thanks!

Pull the fuse or relay for sanity. This might be related to your other post about the clicking relay. Have her pop the hood and relay cover and feel the relays to determine which one is clicking. Might be some wires rubbed through and are grounding.

Check if this KJ has a switch inside the engine bay pointing upwards so that when the hood is closed the switch is pressed in. This can stick or fail so the BCM thinks someone is trying to force the hood open to hot-wire the ignition.

If the switch is there...check it has free movement otherwise you can disconnect the connector or short out the connector to disable this switch....not sure which one!

i think it could be the horn switch itself on the steering wheel.
if it is, unfortunately it might be expensive since I think you'll need to replace the entire unit due to the airbag.
