I read that stp full fuel system treatment can "screw up an engine for a long time" causing things like constant high idle?? Like 1k plus?! Anyone know something about these products?

I run fuel injector cleaner every 2 or 3 tanks personally, definitely notice an improvement

No. Not in a modern computer controlled engine.
If you want to clean your valves, combustion chamber and fuel injectors of carbon. Find a BG dealer near you. They have a decarbonize and injector cleaning chemical and delivery system that works amazing. A lot of dealerships use their products.
