I am new to Jeep and new to this Forum. Had I done my research first, I would not have bought the 2007 Liberty for my wife....but I caved!:pp:
30 days after purchasing, the rear driver-side window regulator crapped out.

A call to the local Jeep dealership, confirmed that there was no warranty/service bulletin for this(seems to be conflicting info about this on this forum).

After checking out the Steigar replacement part site....I thought to myself..."I can do this"!
I pulled the door panel to take a 'peek' and see what I was up against before I ordered a part. I was up against sundown and leaving for vacation the next morning.
I put everything back togather (I thought?). When loading up on the next morning, I could not open the door with either latch:favorites68:

I assume that I did not get the linkage connected back correctly? I assume that it will be a ***** to get the door panel back off with the door closed?
Any ideas that I can try before taking it to a Dealer. I really am a DIY kind of guy....up to a point!!!!

This Forum is a wealth of knowledge. I have already experienced three of the common Liberty problems that are identified in these pages....Yikes!

also make sure you didn't activate the child lock out.

you could try jimmying it open. if you remember what it looked like inside you could try hooking the linkage with something to open the door. It may be best to just rip it off again trying to start at the top.

with the baby lock on you can still open the door from the outside. Looked in the hole to see what was in and activated the baby lock. Then locked a collegue in my car. At first I was worry my door was broken but I figured it was just that.

Imo you simply put something back wrong or maybe it moved when you closed it. I would open the door again and try both lock so you can see what happen with the mechanism.

You said you already have 3 common issue, sorry for the dumb question but did you got it inspected before you got it? If yes, your guy must have done a kinda crappy job.
When I got mine inspected the garage told me to call jeep to replace the ball joint under recall since it was still on the original one. Saved me a lot of money since it broke when the guy was removing it from under the car. don't have to say I was happy he broke it like that XD.

Keep us up to date and I hope you will find the fix!

Yep, I must have knocked something off. I will try to get it open this week. The wife gets home from work late and there is not much daylight time. The other two issues (that I mentioned)are minor. (1) 4wd dashlights not functioning and (2) gas spills out when full
I have seen these issues addressed in the Forum

Well, if gas spill out when full there's not undred possibilitu. You may have a perced reservoir. Happen all the time on many vehicle because of rust or rock on astic reservoir. Unless you say gas spill from the fuel line between the filling hole and the reservoir??
Anyway. Keep us up to date with the issue.

Two issues very common, two issues I've ignored.

This is simply irrelevant to the topic and rude to some point.
Yes I'm am French Canadian. I hope you don't have any problem with that ( note that even I'm from Quebec I'm a canadian not only a Quebecers... )
I also see the point and can tell you that most of these mistake are because I can't get use to that touch screen thing on my phone -_- You seems much more fluid on your's.

Not to bicker about language and typing skills!!! Yesterday, my wife opens the rear door that I was having problems with and says "whats the problem"! This, after I spent $15 on a 'slim jim' bar to enter it????
I guess that our 1500 mile trip to the mountains and back must have jostled the linkage????
Now for the window regulator repair.....Yikes!
