So at random times when i am driving, I will look up only to see that my EVIC (I think thats what it is called...) System has switched from the English units to metric.... So then I have to go in and change it. Its really no big deal, it is just annoying. Any ideas of what could be the problem?

Does that thing have a compass direction E-W etc?
I wonder if there is a setting for re-lean compass...
That might have something to do with it....
Maybe it thinks you are in Canada and switches to metric LOL....:icon_lol:

have you tried disconnecting the battery and letting all the electronics self discharge?
kinda like doing a hard reset

Not sure I've always changed it back when it switched. Never waited to see if it would switch back on its own

Mine seems to happen after hitting a bump. This is why i figured it would be a short in the wire or something. :/

Does it take one hit of a button to change it to metric and vice versa?

you can try opening the EVIC unit and clean it up with alcohol.
I think that would be a labor intensive job.

Try and see whether you can get a few shots of compressed air in the unit and behind the buttons. It's a very tight fit so I'm not sure if this is even possible.

could also try putting some paper spacers between the buttons and unit to prevent the buttons from engaging due to a bump.

It takes like three steps of button pressing.
