evic question help please

just called the dealer to order an evic for my 06 lib 3.7 gas. guy tells me that i cant put one in since the vehicle didnt come with one in the first place. says that it isnt wired for it.

is he wrong? how is it many people on here have done so. i asked about a harness also, and he acted confused.

so what do i do? order it anyway or forget it. i was under the assumption this could be done. sure some features might not work such as tps, but i dont care about that anyway. mostly want the mpg features to look at.

There is a really nice thread in the "how to" section on Evic installation. I installed one about a month ago and it wasn't too bad (my jeep wasn't wired for it either). I would get one off ebay rather than the dealer though......

thanks. i posted this at work this morning and couldnt re-read the how to thread. gonna do that now since im home now. i knew the guy was wrong.

You can't buy a specific EVIC harness from the dealer, what you'll get is a several hundred dollar complete dash harness (if it comes with a factory EVIC the wiring is integral, different harness for different options).
