Vancouver B.C. pull up to get gas at Chevron, below all octane selector buttons is a notification, a white sticker stating:
"Can contain 10 % Ethanol"
94 octane though "has no ethanol"
If I wanted ethanol, I would go to Mohawk.
The human body cant digest corn,(Ottawa Sure Can) WTF less mileage, and cylinder's a wash now.
I heard a new law passed Jan 1st, all gas now contains ethanol.

Here comes E-15?

not surprised, but your gas is half price.
Until now, all of our fuel stations that contained ethanol were cheaper.
Now we get watered down alcohol fuels at higher prices.
Yesterday I think it worked out to $5.30 a gallon.
In the summer I drive the motorcycle at 40 city 70 highway mpg. (no wonder)

Get a 2 person 400cc or highway scooter, the girls like scooters!
Then you can show her your "lift" too!

Been 10% down here as long as i can remember..... Guess Canada is following along with the normal practice on adding it now.

I don't have any mileage problems with it, i still get about the same as other blends. If the KJ was flex fuel capable i would be running E85, that does get a bit less mileage but its also half the price of 89 Octane with 10% ethanol here, and it keeps stuff nice and clean. I use E85 to clean out gas jugs and metal gas tanks, like on small engines and boat tanks, it eats the gum and varnish right out.

With all the ethanol plants around me E85 is always dirt cheap at the local co-op gas stations. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to drop the cost of blended fuel much.

I have a few stations around here now where you can select your custom blend, the pump lets you select a blend in 5% increments. I put 15% in the wife's car because it was acting like it needed some cleaning, the local shops swear by it, what a difference after about ten miles on the highway, now it idles nice again after burning that through and going back to regular 89 with 10%. They said on really dirty engines they will run 20% through it, looks like your putting SeaFoam through it, smokes like crazy until it clears out.

The station has a tank of ethanol and a tank of fuel and the pump mixes for the blend you want. I have three stations like that around here now its pretty neat.

I'd probably get a 150cc and swap the little plate thing with a 50cc one so I don't have to insure it. :D

Same here, anything over 50cc and you need insurance and a motorcycle endorsement to ride it. It's stupid but thats the law in MN now.

Now that is interesting, can you post up a photo of these stations with selectable mix?

I will see if i can later this week, the nearest one is about 30 miles away but i run up to that town at least once a week for parts and shopping.

They have one station that just has like four or five buttons on the pump, i think its 10, 20, 30, E85, or something like that. Then this other one they remodeled about a half year ago and put these new pumps in, man are they fancy, computer touch screen on the front, you can select the mix you want from the screen, really something else. Even purchase a car wash and coffee from the screen, of course you have to walk in to get the coffee but its neat being able to pay at the pump for everything ahead of time.

Up to E30. What cars take that? We must be behind the times then.Never heard of E30.
I do not see a selection for only 5% though on video.
Your station has fully customized for settings like 7% as example?

10% up here since Hector was pup. It equals poorer MPG, big problems for small engine equipment and motorcycle motors. It just sits there and ***** the humidity out of the air, oops, water in your gas? I wonder how that got there. We got no choice, and it's not any cheaper.

Ditto..same here.

Also there is only ONE place that even sells E-85 anywhere around here unless I want to drive 40 miles for it.....not.

So far it has not made it to AK. All our fuel is refined in state and since corn does not do well up here, bringing ethanol up would jack the already high cost through the roof.
Only good thing is my new Polaris Widetrak IQ 600 has a resistor plug in that I can change out for ethanol blends. Guess we could just pour in a jug of Everclear now and again.

Down here in PHX we got the 10% ethanol and in the sumer we get a bonus 5-10% ether! I love paying so much money for 80% gas. Supposedly the ether burns cleaner thus reducing the smog that is so prevelent in the summer months.

I equate it to being the same as crack dealers mixing in baking powder in the crack batch. Price stays the same for the consumer but now there is a 20% increase in profit, dirty m and fers.

It just allows you to run different blends with a flex fuel vehicle, a flex fuel vehicle can run any percentage of ethanol.... Like if you have a half tank of gas and then top off with E85, etc..

Some like the 30% because it gives a bit better mileage while still being cheaper and cleaner than 10%.

The other station we have nearby lets you select increments of 5%, but the minimum is 10% in which case it gives you regular gas, and as you go up it adds more ethanol, i think the highest is of course 85%.

I have run 15% and 20% through motors to clean them out. Yes E85 does retain moisture more than regular fuel. But if you put in some E20 for example in a small engine, and ran it through in a single day and then filled back up with regular 10% then no big deal. I do this once a year to my snowblower, but be WARNED if you have a metal gas tank DO NOT allow the higher ethanol blend to sit in it for long, eventually over time it will create rust, but then regular fuel from a station with a bit of water in its fuel will as well. My snowblower has a metal tank and a bowl type filter and element that i can take apart and clean, so i run E20 through it once a year and it cleans out the fuel system nice, clean the fuel filter out, fill back up with regular gas, and life it good.

I had a couple gummed up boat fuel tanks last year, they had gas in them that was five years old, no kidding the guy let them sit that long. Dumped them out into a recycling container at the local service station and then put two gallons of E85 in each, let them sit for a day, then flipped upside down and let them sit another day, let them sit on each side for a day... etc... Basically give the entire inside of the tank a soak. Then dumped them out again at the service station into their big tank for drained fuel and fluids... They were clean smelling and shiny inside, really did the job to clean them up.

The E85 makes a good solvent....

ya us MN boys love our ethanol!!! I got a Eagle Talon i like to push 400hp on and i run E85 as a cheap race gas. Now tons of us talon guys do this and we leave the tanks, lines, and fuel rails with no problems. ive used up to a 50/50 mix in the liberty for ***** and giggles, no cels or other obvious issues with it and hardly any gas milage loss. I love e85 but it is definatly not the answer to gas

I assume that 87 octane with 10 % ethanol is acceptable. I would think more than 10% is not good for the Liberty? Owners manual kinda vague.
Is it true that ethanol is like alcohol, that this fuel will not require winter agents as it will not freeze, and it burns hotter than gas without ethanol.
