Hi,

So as luck would have it my radiator sprung a leak in the SAME EXACT place that I've read about here and even seen on youtube. So I ordered a Mopar one online. I got the 52080120-AE
But my jeep is a 2004 3.7 Auto w/AC

I see four different models listed for my year:

52080118AB 3.7 LITER, W/AC, AUTO TRANS
52079729AC 3.7 LITER, W/O AC, MANUAL TRANS
52079728AB 3.7 LITER, W/O AC, AUTO TRANS
52080120AE 3.7 LITER, W/AC, MANUAL TRANS

Is there really much difference between the Auto/Manual W/AC radiators?
The online parts guy said they all are the same and have cross ref'd numbers.

not exactly sure but personally I'd try and get the appropriate number to my vehicle no matter what the parts guy says. However, I'd think the only difference may be in where the trans cooling lines go in the case of manual/auto differences  but I could be wrong...

The radiator for an automatic has a small oil cooler for transmission - the manual will not have the oil cooler. So yes - there is a difference and its probably reflected in the pricing.

This is what I was thinking but parts guy says "No."
I will call him back and ensure he sends the CORRECT part this time.
Already the return spout on the plastic tank was broke off during shipping.

Are there supposed to be Mopar part numbers or logos on the radiators?
I got a Mopar radiator online from a dealer and this thing has no part number or Mopar logo whatsoever located on it ANYWHERE

*******************************

Compared the markings on the one I got in the mail and the original in the Jeep and they are the same so I'm good there.

Being a '04 you do not have a option for the in-radiator trans cooler for auto's(all have external stand alone coolers) so the only difference is mounting tabs for AC and trans cooler.

got this one:
52080118AB

for my 2002 with the 45RFE, so that one will NOT work for your 04 with 42RLE

so that is one down 3 to go...

according to avondalewholesaleparts.com
2004 3.7L jeep liberty limited as the parameters

it is
52080120AE for $183.36.

It's also free shipping from them.

when you order from them, you should put in the VIN number so you have the right part.

One issue I have found out with Chrysler and their part numbers aside Exports having the same numbers as domestic but entirely different. (My Export Tail Lights being one of these issues) is that they constantly change part numbers for the same part. Cruise Control for the Liberty is a prime example of this. You'll find quite a few different part numbers for the Cruise Control buttons used on the Liberty, Datoka, Ram etc..... But they're the same all around you either have the black housing or on mine the ''silver housing'' despite I ordered black and got silver but not going to complain add's some spice to my Jeep.

the 52080120-AE worked for me
they actually sent me another one because the first one they shipped got broken in transit
this morning i woke up about 430am and had everything swapped out by 7am
most difficult parts were

1) re-alining the condensor and oil cooler to the front of the radiator
2) getting the lower hose clamp to go back over the lower radiator hose

i watched like 3 of those videos on youtube beforehand which helped a bunch

thanks guys!
