Alright, first post. Here's my background. I'm coming from a 99 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Cummins 5-spd (and 3 more Cummins trucks before that) on 35's with a Ranchhand bumper and tons of goodies. Changed jobs and needed something more professional, so here's where the 02 Liberty comes in. I bought it at the auction for $3300 bucks... I knew it needed a cv shaft and a window regulator, but last night I got it home and it leaked coolant all over my driveway. Not from the front of the engine either... Right through the skid plate/K-member. Its not a RAD hose, or a water pump... I'm new to the 3.7L, so are the freeze plugs prone to failure, could it be a heater core hose? Where are these things?

Here's one clue I'm still investigating. The truck didn't seem to leak (to my knowledge with 22 miles under my belt) when I only ran cold air... Last night I turned on the heater and when I parked it I noticed the puddle. What are the odds its only a hose?

Anyone else run into this issue?

Oh BTW, I do like the Jeep, this is my 3rd. 86 CJ-7 was the first, 96 ZJ was the second...

Somewhere between being sane and insane!
The front skid can collect coolant from the front of the engine and leak it towards the back.Check the radiator, drivers side upper corner of the plastic tank.Pull the rubber flap back some and check for cracks, most common place for KJ's to leak coolant.

If that's good pressure test the system to check for leaks, might be the waterpump also.
