Hello all
I have an 05 Libby.
(1)
The spare tire is a pain for towing. I was checking out the hitch extensions on the market. They are 2"x2" and will allow the trailer to clear the edge of the spare.
I am not going to tow 5,000 lbs with it but probably 1500 from time to time.
Has anyone had any experience with these extensions?

(2)
Has anyone found a cheaper place to buy the front tow hooks than $98 ?

Thanks in advance

My parents have an extension and they tow a 2000lbs pop-up w/o any problems.

Sorry, the tow hooks are kind of a rip-off unless you want to fab up your own uni-body mounts. Best bet is to look for some used ones someone is getting rid of because they are installing a front hitch.

I actually leave it on all the time, as a punishment to anyone who might rearend me.

I had an Aerostar w/a hitch on, got a Lexus that way. Knocked a 2" round hole in his front facia.

I wouldn't get an extension if I were you. I'd just get a 14" ball mount. www.ontheball.com sells 14" ball mounts for less than $20 bucks. They will solve all your towing concerns, won't drop your capacity any, and will work with the factory receiver hitch.
