Chirp at >2000rpm

I am hearing a high frequency chirp/whistle whenever KJ is over 2000rpm (inaudible otherwise). Frequency increases with higher rpm. No other noticeable issues.

Any ideas?

You need to put your jeep info in your sig. Without anyone knowing what year you have, etc it is impossible to get a decent answer. Some things change from year to year and it is real important to know what you got.


My 05 has a chirp at about 15mph when the doors automaticly lock but it is barely audible. With the radio off and trying hard to listen for it, I can hear it. Otherwise not. Something like that maybe?

Maybe the belt tensioner.
