Seeking answers to 2004 KJ sport sticking in 2nd gear after 40 minutes, runs ok after resting for 40 minutes?

Welcome to the forum. Even tho it may be a solenoid, best to get the Jeep scanned for transmission codes & CVi clutch volume index.
Any trans shop with a commercial scanner should be able to do this for you.
The codes will hopefully pinpoint problem.
