Changing spark plugs

Ok...now that I have the spark plugs, I went to change them only to run introuble right off the bat. On the driver side, 2 of the 3 plugs have a clip holding a rubber hose in place. How does this come off to get at the nut? Also, on the passenger side, I assume you have to remove the coolant resevoir and the air cleaner tube to get at the plugs?

Is there a written "how to" anywhere?

written? I think we need a video how to on Jeeps spark plugs.. you gotta go through a lot of stuff to get there.

Answer

1) Remove the air filter manifold. It will clip on the air filter on one side, and there will be a ring fastener on the other.

2) For the 3 plugs on the driver side, use a 10 mm nut driver to remove the locking nut of the spark plug terminal.

3) Disconnect the harness from the plug terminal.

4) Pull out the terminal.

5) Use a socket wrench to remove the plug.

6) For the 3 plugs on the passenger side, you will need to remove the Radiator Coolant resevoir. This is fastened with 2 10mm nuts. Once removed follow steps 2 to 5 for each plug.

Note that on the Radiator it will state what the gap should be for the spark plug.

Just yank the clips off. If they don't come off the nuts, yank harder!

As for removing the coolant reservoir, if you have a universal connector that will fit your socket and extension you shouldn't have to worry about it. I've yanked all mine twice now without removing to reservoir.

Done. I took the coolant reservoir off just to make it easier. Not to bad once it was off. Driver side was a piece of cake.
