I have the Westin Brush guard with 5000lb winch on front (see url below for pic). The westin guard is mounted to the bumper/frame? from underneath, seems as though i would rip the thing off if i tried to use the winch. (just got a smokin deal on this thing used, as is). Dont know much about winches ect tho. is there a better way to secure the brush guard to frame? or will it work ok as is? been looking at the ARB for liberty which looks hella sweet =)

Good day,

I have looked at several brush guards with the intention of mounting
my winch on it, but most are nothing more than just a "brush guard"
and a way to affix additional driving/fog lights and not intended for
use with a winch.

A real winch bumper such as the ARB, Trail Ready, TJM, or Rock-
lizard(which has a class III 2 inch trailer hitch mount for a quick
fit winch mount) would be a better solution.

Here are some additional links for you to look at:

rock lizard looks best to me. for function and price....
rear bumper looks pretty nice too.... missing apropriate funding for all this tho, =(

looking at the Monitor Lizard KJ Front Bumper and noticed the fog lights found on my jeep between the headlights and the grille (slightly lower than headlights) are missing on the pictures of the front bumper on the website. Will i have to cut this part of my grille off? any ideas? suppose if this is the case, there is no going back to the old bumper!

Hey there,

Here's a suggestion for you if I may?

If you want/need a winch for your KJ, why don't you sell the
brush guard and use that cash towards a suitable front bumper.
Then mount your winch to that!
Out of curiosity, make/model of winch is that?
