Here's the original thread
http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/f196/drivers-side-front-creak-noise-60835/
After 4 months of trial and error (1st: All new sway bar stuff 2nd: Spring Isolators 3rd: UCA bushings 4th: LBJ) I finally took it in and got it figured out.
It was the upper shock mount on the driver's side. As I rocked the Jeep the mechanic got under it and watched the shock/coil and noticed that the shock shaft was moving around. So I ordered a new coil over mount from Mopar (aftermarket seemed like a gamble, this was $100), and it's back together and quiet now.

Here are some pics!

Look at how the bushing completely separated from the molded rubber. :blah:

WOW, very interesting for sure, never seen one do that before ( on other vehicles but not on a KJ.
Was that the stock one or an aftermarket one?

Stock one, 160k on it. I figured it was a rare thing to go wrong, I couldn't think of anyone else that had this issue. What does everyone think caused it? Just wear over time or an isolated incident?
