Went to turn into the garage the other day, had the Libby in 4H during the rain. As I turned it slowed way way way down and made sort of a moan.

Is this normal or a symptom of something I should look into.

You do not need to use 4WD in the rain, you have more than enough solid tire to road contact without engaging the transfer case, and if you are loosing traction, then you're just driving too fast for the conditions....

It's no different than turning the wheels on dry solid ground, and it's not the best thing you can do to your 4WD vehicle. The Liberty isn't a full time 4WD setup that compensates for turning on solid surfaces, the 4WD system is intended for off road, or snow covered road surfaces...if you're not in the sand or snow, leave it in 2WD and you won't have this problem......

It might be something you have to look into now...cause you might have hosed your transfer case.

Rain on pavement isn't enough to justify 4h (let alone 4lo). You WILL experience driveline bind which results in the exact symptoms you describe. You might get away with it once or twice, but you're putting real strain on your transfer case and driveline.

Only a fulltime system can be used on pavement in the rain.

Part time systems are for real offroad use, loose surface. I'm nervous turning on my 4wd on hard packed dirt roads. Pavement is a major no-no. Hope you haven't hosed anything.

I have driven my TJ on dry paved roads and the same thing happened
4 wheels and 4 different speeds takes some
power
However as it has been stated
you should not need 4wd in the rain
unless it is full time 4wd
Yes it can damage the t-case but the front
diff is much weaker and will go long before the
t-case

The ****** is plenty strong
like I said the front diff will act as the fuse on a KJ
it will "blow" long before any thing else
