2005 liberty crd

My 2005 Liberty AC unit started growling for about one second every seven seconds. Then I noticed when it growled one of the ac lines would jump. I did not know that on the dash control all the way to the left a little zero would turn the unit off. To diagnose if that's where the noise was coming from I needed to turn the compressor off so I found the fuse and pulled it. Then turn the engine back on and the growling was gone. I put the fuse back in restarted and noticed that the front clutch does not turn now I probably burnt something out don't know.

What was the eventual diagnosis and fix for your issue?

Probably electric clutch on the AC gone bad.
