05 Liberty rear window won't close

Hi I have an 05 Liberty and the trunk window latch is stuck in the locked position and I cannot close the window. I had noticed the window started to get harder and harder to latch shut. I'm assuming I probably need a whole new latch actuator; but any ideas how to fix this or close the window all the way until the part comes?

If you look at the top of the assembly, there is a latch that holds the locking mechanism back. You will need to remove the cover in order to access it. If you push on the latch, it will release the mechanism, allowing you to shut the glass door.
