    Fram oil filter updated.

Ok so now I'm thinking If their were an oil filter wrench that was a good fit for othe Libby, it would eliminate the need for the gripp shxx. Our filters are in a little bit of an odd position. But I've seen alot worse.

    Hellllppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!

You got some electrical gremlins for sure. Voltage regulation issues? Maybe your alternator is going out. If you have a volt meter, measure the battery voltage with the engine off. (your battery terminals clean and tight?) Measure again with the engine on. You should read something like 12.3 to...

    Fram oil filter updated.

Doing an oil change today I noticed Fram modified their filter. Less metal to secure the threaded mounting area. A more recessed face, and more oval shaped holes. I've been using Fram for years without issue, but.............. Does the threaded area (filter on left) look risky? Mayby the new...

Stealership Carwash-maybe not a good idea

I probably wouldn't have noticed the dead switch if the mirrors weren't moved for who ever did the roar test-drive. Only time I take my libby to the dealer is for stuff I'm not equipped to do, like power flush the tranny or replace passenger dash panels from the nail marks! Possibly 9+...

Stealership Carwash-maybe not a good idea

Why my purposly spotless KJ was subjected to a carwash after service work at a local dealer is unknown, but the result was both power side mirrors are dead. Fuses check out ok. Hi-pressure water or the air dry seems to have pushed water inside my door and killed the switch. A new $32.00 switch...

Breather tube? Gotta check into that-thanks! Pinion WAS leaking, and it's diaper (seal) is changed out now. Happy baby? No!--- Now I see more of the previously described artwork on right rear differential tube and gas tank. I cleaned it up somewhat to get a better idea of how much it's...

    Front Diff Artwork

I knew my front diff drain and fill plugs were a little "comprimised" over the last few oil fluid changes, and noticing some leakage, last week I changed out the diff fluid after only 6k miles and installed new fill/drain plugs. 800 miles later I'm shocked to see the same leak but more focused...

Weird noise when car starts in cold weather.

Shudder to think whats inside the R&P. $$$ to fix.... To note, My KJ has has 106k and PS system was flushed by the dealer at about 60K. Was it really done? hmmmm. The fan and crossmember were called out for removal in the manual, and were way too easy to ignore, i bet you could do the PS...

Weird noise when car starts in cold weather.

Mine only needed 1 bottle of PS fluid, but I got 2 in case. I'll use it later to swap out some of the fluid after some time. And Yes- let the beatings begin with my use of fram filters!:D

Weird noise when car starts in cold weather.

New Power steering pump Ran out of excuses. Tired of the What the?? stares when I crank her over. So new pump it is!! BTW this is for 2002- Get your new pump and pulley-puller first, along with a bottle of PS fluid. Works best when engine and beer are cold. Remove as much fluid from the...

Weird noise when car starts in cold weather.

So do we have a "how to" for PS pump replacement? Maybe even the tank seal? Or do I need to come up with more creative stories of what that cool-like turbine whine noise is for my passengers?
