If I remember correctly, there is a little latch inside that is accessible without removing anything. It is metal with a black rubber boot. Try to see it that is stuck in one position or another.

When this happened to mine, I needed a rebuild. Mine happened while two-tracking north of Traverse City Michigan. I live in the Ann Arbor area. The girlfriend and I were able to limp it home via 90% dirt roads in just 12 hours.

Not a common problem I take it??? Yes, was just informed it was the Freeze Plug on rear of block. Which yes, meant trans removal.

no, it just a slow tumbling clicking sound. only hear it though a slow to coming to a stop type speeds for far.

well, i am also getting that clicking sound. i have pretty much ruled out everything else but the front hubs. this because of the "sound" location....YOU????? any sounds... click sound comes and goes....

2005 LIBERTY Rear seal is shot, want to take off front driveshaft and do the u-joint mod while i have it down. i took all bolts out, i can only get shaft to travel back a few inches, but not enough to take it out of the front diff. any idea how to do this? thanks,tim
