    Roof mounted fog lights

I did the same thing with a junk yard light bar and switch. Mounted it with 3M double stick tape instead of drilling. About ten linear feet of it altogether. I love it when people say you can’t do that. Been on there for two years. Death Valley, Mojave desert, 80 mph, 30 mph headwinds through...

    Code P1140

P1140 means the flow control valve (intake throttle) is acting up. It is used to control EGR flow. Either the gears are stripped or the motor is going out. A new valve or a GDE tune will fix the problem.

    Adding Cruise to the CRD

Hi Tim, I added cruise to my wife's 05 sport that came without it, but sorry, I don't have the part number of the harness. I don't remember that part. Once LOST is back up get in touch with Sir Sam there.

CRD Fuel Mileage Drop in Cold Weather

I have the relays removed for the viscous heat on both of my CRDs. On the one with the grille blanket it takes about 3 miles to get up to full temp without the viscous heat, and 2 miles with it. This is after having the block heater come on 3 hrs before I leave for work. No codes set either...

I was in the same boat until I went into the fuse box and pulled out the relay for viscous heat.

CRD Fuel Mileage Drop in Cold Weather

Sometimes it's not just anti-gel that's blended with the winter fuel, but kerosene, which has lower energy content per gallon. Ethanol/methanol should never be added to diesel fuel. I'm not sure which sensor is the one the ECU uses to turn on the viscous heater. It may be the one in the...

    steering pump

The exact temperature at which it activates is decided by the vehicle manufacturer. I can hear mine come on below about 45ºF.

    steering pump

It actually has a mechanism inside it that churns a separate, highly viscous fluid. That fluid gets so hot that the coolant passing through the pump housing gets warm too. http://www.sae.org/automag/techbriefs/07-2001/techb3.htm

CRD Fuel Mileage Drop in Cold Weather

Stoichiometric doesn't mean anything to a diesel motor. Winter fuel is part of it. A big part of it is the viscous heater, which is belt driven and churns to heat your coolant and keep the engine up to temp. It activates below about 45ºF, so that's what you're seeing. It draws power and...

    05-07 EVIC Specs

Did you find out if your sport has the transponders installed from the factory? I just put an 06 EVIC in my 05 CRD, and I have the 05+ sensors ready to install. Right now when the car is powered up with the sensors sitting in the cupholders I get -- next to each tire on the EVIC display...
