And the Amazon page says the set I got doesn’t fit but I’ve been driving around with them for a while now

    Lift is done!!

I went with a motive d30 456rjk for my kk. They’re on Amazon now. As I understand it the kj can only take up to 4.10’s but they appear to be for sale on Amazon as well.

    rear seat interchangeability.

Yep, quite a few too. A few springs to mess with just to cause trouble. They all stay in place though.

    rear seat interchangeability.

I have a 2012, I changed seats from an earlier year (2009 I think) see to get rid of the clothe seats I had and didn’t have any problems. Seat is way heavier than I expected though. Seriously considered leaving them out.

Front differential crush washer/pinion nut torque 500 ft/lbs??

Just for perspective I did both of my diffs by driving the nut on with a rattle gun until I got the rotational torque. Couldn’t find the proper tools and got impatient. Wouldn’t recommend but they’ve been fine for some time.

    lockers

I put one in because I often explore solo, so I want to make sure I don’t get stuck. It’s a last resort. I also like to modify my own vehicles so it took very little effort to convince myself. You should be aware that Ifs is subject to many failure points( ball joints, tie-rods, cv axles) and...

    lockers

I put a Torsten in the rear, really wanted to keep the front open as much as possible. The brand of air-locker I got was HF I think. No-shipping at the time, only a long wait time. WOW, I just looked and they might be cheaper now. The auto lockers are just big chunks of metal so not much to...

    lockers

I’m gonna reveal some information that will seriously set some of you off, but try not to lose it ok? I have a kk, but I think the same principles apply. Since I wanted the piece of mind of a front locker, but I plan to use it as a last resort due to the weakness of the aluminum front...

    Water pump

Ahh, I assumed a kk would have the 3.7 gas engine

    Actual downsides to spacer lift

I went from stock tire size to 255/70 r16 when I had the spacer lift, as well as a 2in wheel spacer. I added the wheel spacers to prevent fenders rubbing on embankments and such, but this set up did require hammering of the pinch weld behind the tires. The improvement off-road from the lift and...

    Actual downsides to spacer lift

That guys videos are great, however he is working with Toyotas. I don’t think I ever found an “under the top spacer” for the kk, nor have I heard anyone advocate for a lift via preload. The lift I used completely replaced the top plate and the other spacers I’ve seen bolt on top. I noticed...

    Water pump

Looks like same part number, so unless you have a crd it’s probably a very similar procedure

    Actual downsides to spacer lift

I put in a spacer lift and ran it for 30,000 miles. It didn’t do great things for the ride quality, but nothing grenaded. My springs didn’t immediately sag since I didn’t use the lift that adds preload to the front springs, and my ball joints didn’t pull out immediately which is something else...

    Water pump

If you broke the bolt in one of the pulleys you just replace the whole tensioner. It holds both pulleys. Super simple. If you broke the bolt that holds the tensioner you’re extracting things and I wish you luck.

    Water pump

    Nope, they are separate.

Possible broken top mount on new lift? Please help

I have seen 2 different types, the type above that can be disassembled and one that can’t. The latter is often on cheap quick-struts. I believe they are interchangeable. Either way it looks like you forgot an important washer. This pic shows a version with a large washer on top, I think this is...

    Cooling fan issue

You can also add a mechanical fan to the kk very easily. I believe they came on the version with the tow package. I added one to my sport since I sometimes run trails in the desert in summer. It’s an easy upgrade that adds redundancy even if you fix the electric fan.
