I keep the hood down, unless I am winching (makes a great shield) ... but you could keep it down the whole time.

Like he said :) You may have a difficult time getting your drill in there, and the bit they recommend was an odd size to locate. All in all everything went smoothly though.

Went muddin' a few weeks ago. I got so much mud stuck to my chassis and wheels that I had to take my wheels off and put her on jackstands in order to clean her up: Got stuck so bad this weekend that I had to climb out of the back window. I wish I had some pictures of that :-({|=

I have a DrawTite front hitch. Does anyone know of a brushgaurd\bull bar that will install without using the same mounting locations? Does anyone have both already?
