    05-07 EVIC Specs

Is there some reason you couldn't install an'02 to '04 EVIC with TPMS and wheel sensors on your '07? As far as I know, there is no additional wiring and no triggers needed. With the '04 Liberty EVIC, you would have ambient temp, but with others you would not. Any other limitations?

    05-07 EVIC Specs

As far as I know, the EVIC only supports one version of Tire Pressure Monitoring Display System (TPMS). The other system you might be thinking of is the Tire Pressure Monitoring Warning System (TPM?). It is entirely different, uses different sensing technology, has nothing to do with EVIC and...

    05-07 EVIC Specs

Whoops, sorry about that. The consoles come in three versions: BASIC; WITH HOMELINK; WITH HOMELINK AND TPMS. The EVIC has to be a TPMS model in order to receive the signals. You would know right away once you have the unit installed -- when you scroll through the functions (ie: MPG, DTE...

    05-07 EVIC Specs

I believe stackthepads is correct. Your transmitters go in the wheels and your EVIC unit should take it from there. Wheelwell receivers are part of a different system. On mine, I had the spare deprogrammed so it was not part of the system -- I didn't want to buy the extra transmitter and...

    Making a 2wd Liberty 4wd

Don't know what type of off-roading you had in mind, but an Limited slip or locker in the back and a little driving technique will take you a lot of places. A winch will take you the rest of the way! In the mean time, you'll save a ton of $ and you won't have your wheels out of service for a...

    Clutch/Dealership Issues

    1. If you're not happy with the way they are handling the job, you need to let them know. If they don't deliver as promised, they should at least be providing alternate wheels for you. If you're not satisfied, you should let DC know. 2. Don't the '04's have a 70,000 mile powertrain...

    2.4?

My son has the 2.4. He likes it fine -- has had no problems. I've driven it also and like the way it runs and handles. Only difference -- not quite as fast or throaty sounding. I would have no issues with having one. You are rated to tow 2000#. Your gas mileage is (according to the EPA)...

    Storage??? (twitch-twitch...)

I know a couple of people who leave their car for 6 months at a time (in garage). They disconnect the battery and it's good to go when they get back! As far as I know, they've had no problems! But if you're going to have someone drive it around, make sure they get it out and run it around...

HOW TO: Install an EVIC or OTIS (overhead computer)

Why do you think your old EVIC won't work? It should work fine to get you started. You can always upgrade later. The '05 KJ Sport didn't list an EVIC as an option, not that it matters. But the '05 Limited/Renegade used 56010520 AA/AB/AD I believe. The letter designators would probably...

    HELP! RB1 NO AUDIO

Sounds like the radio to me. It happens. If you have a local radio shop, you might get a price to fix it before discussing options with the seller. Good luck!

    05 Durango EVIC Work???

The housing will NOT fit. The electronic module will work, however and will slip into the Liberty/Grand Cherokee housing. There will be some differrences. Study up of the EVIC (Liberty and GC) vs. OTIS (Ram and Durango) first before you commit to this arrangement.

HOW TO: modify your A/C heater control

Yes. In that case you would leave the factory A/C switch on all the time and use your auxillary switch as the A/C switch. BTW, my numbering system is upside down from the factory version (whoops), but otherwise compatable. Hey Bennett, did you get the new style heater control to operate...

HOW TO: modify your A/C heater control

Looking for a more realistic test, I passed a smooth stainless knife handle butt over a sample of the tape using about (according to the postal scale) 1 lb. of force, with no dialectric of friction modifier. At 6000 passes, the tape definitely looked worn, but was still intact. IF that's a...

HOW TO: modify your A/C heater control

I considered cutting, but didn't want to risk jeapordizing the structural integrety of the copper piece. Also, it would have been irreversable. Finally, I didn't want to interrupt the contact plane on the knob armiture. I considered an epoxy layer with plastic over it. But then, after...

HOW TO: modify your A/C heater control

It's deceptively simple to fix, and I apologize for not posting it earlier (didn't think anyone was interested). Basically, you cover that portion of terminal #2 over the "floor" position so the bezel contact can't make contact in that region. I also did it over the "floor/defrost" position...

    Replace your spark plugs early

Re: Good info Yes, I did them. With the right tools, it's not too bad -- much easier than some! If you've changed plugs before, you know pretty much what to expect. No special tools are required, just the standard 3/8 (or 1/2) " drive, couple of extensions and a U-joint, basic tools...

    Replace your spark plugs early

I decided to replace the plugs at 22k miles -- thought I'd try some of those iridiums to see if they made a difference, as some claim. The first surprise is that the original plugs had already eroded from the factory setting of 44/1000" to 54 - 57/1000" That's a lot of wear considering the...
