I've been running these springs for over 30,000 miles now.
There has been no sagging and they are sitting at a squeak over 20" all round. I've standard fitment Bilsteins on the back and standard KYBs on the front. I have not fitted extended bump stops but did get the tracking done after...
I am mostly waiting for a break in the weather and finding the enthusiasm to replace my rear brake calipers. We've been taking a fair old pounding from the wind in the UK over the past few weeks and it seems to be non stop tree clearance and putting roofs back on. I continue to be impressed how...
A mate picked up a pneumatic jack which I borrowed to do a wheel rotation. Bish bash bosh, 10 mins job done, wipe down pork chop.
Its the new best thing :)
Well, having just made my own viscous heater delete, with a 3 week spell off road while i waited for the correct sized pulley to arrive. All done Hurrah!.
Now have found that my transfer box output bearing is rough as a badgers backside. Short of paying a fortune to have the box rebuilt, or...
The VM engine likes it hot so doubt it is the weather. Have you tried cleaning the MAF sensor (on the intake just after the airbox). If you VERY GENTLY clean the elements with a soft artists paint brush and then lightly spray it with electrical contact cleaner (not brake cleaner) let it dry then...
What country are you in and what engine?
I've managed 52 mpg on a run with 2.8 CRD and proper job British Empire sized gallon (20% more fun but about 10x more expensive).
Thank you. The clutch assembly seized last night and shredded/threw the serpentine. Managed to get it home with no power steering and dim lights. Ordered clutch assembly and belt immediately. Going to limp it down to the garage this morning so it's there ready as soon as the parts arrive.
Today the pulley wheel on my aircon (2.8 CRD) started being very squeaky. If I squirt oil into the top of it, it quietens. I assume there is a bearing in the clutch thingy on the front. Can it be changed. What's the received wisdom please?
As I have been unable to get a dropped hitch for my tow bar I have lifted my new trailer by using some 3" box section (all I could find laying around the yard) and as the 10" tyres were worn out, replaced them with new 12" rims and tyres. Also knocked up a new tailgate, adapting one a mate had...
Yes it is a big fat pin. and the levers are some kind of quick release. completely dumbfounds me as to how it works. I think it must be held in by some kind of osmosis. I'm tempted to leave well alone. Can justify buying an entire new towbar to sort the issue.
Looking at the way UK hitches are fitted looks different. Damned if I can work out how to release it. Is yours like this? Think I shall end up doing a lift on the trailer with some 4" box section.
I've a few trailers which are just a little bit nose high, including my horsebox, so lowering would help all of them. Plans for the trailer including hauling logs, jumbo bags of wood shavings for bedding and transporting a trials bike I have nearly finished building. Most of my other utility...
My mate and I scored a couple of ex-traffic light trailers for a song. Right time/right place and legit. Very handy, just need to fab up a tailgate for mine. Question is, has anyone sourced a dropped/lower tow hitch? My jeep tows everything a tiny bit too high.
Hey! I hope is all good with y'all! It's been a very long winter and not conducive to messing around with the Jeep.
It had new UCAs and track rod ends 6 months ago and the alignment done. I've booked it in to have it checked next week. If anything I think it may have been set incorrectly...
