So, basically I'm S.O.L. on putting a tow hitch on my Liberty :( If so, I guess I'll be selling it so I can get something with a tow hitch. Won't go off-road without a rear hard point for winching/strapping. And was planning on getting a small trailer to hold camping gear and what not.

Check your Jeep on mopar.com it will tell you if there are any recalls. I just got one done which replaced the rear lower control arms because of the rust.

Got the lower control arms replaced on recall. Dealer couldn’t put the tow hitch on, frame was too rusty. So can an aftermarket hitch be put on instead? Assuming I knock any loose rust off the frame.

Yeah, I’ve got 2 sets of sockets that are missing the 10mm. One of them didn’t even have a 10mm it had 2 9 mm

On the road again. All paid for, packed up and about to hit the highway.

Well, according to the shop. They jump started and it ran fine. They got it into the shop bay and after 2 minutes running the alternator was super hot. Battery not holding a charge either. so, new battery and alternator, parts are available so it should be ready by 2pm (late check out time)

So, traveling down I74 battery light comes on, a little farther multiple dash lights on and it’s in limp mode. Pretty sure either A/C clutch or compressor locked up (no more nut on front of pulley) and the belts not turning the alternator. got a tow to tires plus in Hamilton and staying nearby.

Topped off the oil. Had to make a spanner wrench to get the cap off, it was on so tight I couldn’t budge it. There’s been a new noise lately when braking, so I checked the brakes. I think the noise was from the 3 loose lug nuts on the passenger side. Retorqued all the lug nuts twice...

Add parking brake pads and hardware. found the mystery rattle from rear exhaust. One of the hangers is broke off right next to the pipe. also found the top of the rear control arm has a rust hole on it. Also add on the front discs were rusted onto the hubs yesterday.

New belt tensioner and SERP belt. New front discs and pads. Tomorrow on to the back brakes

Turned a 1/2 hour replace a/c clutch into 4 hour job. Forgot to get snap ring pliers. HD ones from autozone have replaceable tips that also swivel 90 degrees either way, made getting snap ring off easy. Then putting the new one on, the old bolt snapped. Go pick up lunch and screw extractor. Got...
