    CKS Question. '02 3.7L V6

Well, the part was actually $41.00+...the keyway on the front of the crank is what sheared off....NOT my fault. That's an engine fault... If you've ever pulled a harmonic balancer and had to replace it, then you know it goes on one way ONLY....somehow...it sheared while running after...

    CKS Question. '02 3.7L V6

The shop called and said my keyway was sheared off my crank shaft. The funny thing is, the scanner is showing the engine being in sync when they turn it over. This thing is headed straight to the JY. Thanks for all the help along the way. Definitely our last go-around with a 3.7L V6 in our...

Rumble Strip noise in 4wd FT in 03 Liberty Renegade

That rumble strip sound is most likely a worn u-joint in a driveshaft. Probably your rear, most likely.

    CKS Question. '02 3.7L V6

The fuel pump is running before start-up. I just pulled the number one cylinder spark plug and am getting spark. I know I have pressure in the fuel rail, but don't know how much.

    CKS Question. '02 3.7L V6

yes. I've all ready installed a new Mopar cam sensor as a result of the P0340. Since there's been documented confusion by these Liberty PCMs, and also the fact that the RPMs aren't being read by the PCM, I installed a new Mopar crank sensor.

    CKS Question. '02 3.7L V6

I picked up a Mopar crank sensor for it today, but, it's raining. Maybe I'll try it tomorrow. For anybody that's looking for a crank sensor, it's part number is 56041479AD. If you try to find the Mopar crank sensor, you have to search using this number or they'll show up as non-existent...

    CKS Question. '02 3.7L V6

A friend stopped by with a good scanner and took a look for me. My PCM is in good shape. My PCM also isn't getting a read on RPMs and is setting the P0340 code. I think the BWD crank sensor is bad. Or, I have shorted wires between the sensor and the PCM.

    CKS Question. '02 3.7L V6

I swapped the ASD relay and checked all the fuses in the PDC. Still no change. Maybe I just got a bad PCM from a good company?

    CKS Question. '02 3.7L V6

I got the new BWD CKS in today by jacking up the KJ and creeping in from underneath. That was a mutha of a job, but not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Well, the results are, it's still not starting and now there are no codes. The new CKS got rid of the P0340. While I was...

    CKS Question. '02 3.7L V6

I'm definitely not pulling the engine to do this. We keep getting pounded with snow and freezing temperatures here, so it makes outside work very difficult. Very difficult I can handle. But this looks impossible to me while the KJ is on the ground. I can't get the wheel off and my...

    02 KJ Coolant Temp. Questions

When I did the rebuild, originally, I filled the coolant to full and got her running up to temp. at idle. I then replaced the cap on the coolant jug and tried cracking that bleeder for the first time. It took a HUGE amount of torque to get it to squeak open just enough to let air out. I could...

    02 KJ Coolant Temp. Questions

When I first rebuilt my daughter's 02 KJ 3.7L V6 engine, I reinstalled the replacement fan that she had bought for it because here e-fan was shot before the rebuild. I also replaced the CTS after the build. At that time, the e-fan was kicking on and operating perfectly. I recently...

    CKS Question. '02 3.7L V6

Can anyone offer any tips or time saving tricks involved with installing a new Crank Position Sensor in a 2002 KJ, 3.7L V6? I'm gonna try this pretty soon and have watched a couple youtube videos, but taking the passenger side tire off is not an option for me right now. Thanks for any...

    '02 KJ code mystery.

I went to the Jeep dealer today and got a new Mopar TPS and cam sensor. The parts guy said there are literally NO Mopar crank sensors available anywhere, and he's right. None on ebay or rockauto. NONE. I picked up a BWD crank sensor and we'll see how that goes. I installed the TPS and cam...

    '02 KJ code mystery.

It's never been replaced. It's the original. It's just odd to me that it picked NOW to go bad. Is it normal to have to replace one after 125K?

    '02 KJ code mystery.

After sitting for a day or two, the KJ will not start. The last time it ran it set a P0340 code. No signal from the cam sensor to the PCM. That was Friday. I pulled the negative cable off for the weekend and put it back on a little bit ago. Now, it just turns over but won't start.
