New ignition lock cylinder and bell rings
New cylinder was defective I went to my local auto parts store and bought a Dorman brand lock cylinder. I installed it, removed the key, opened the door, no bell. I am returning the Standard lock cylinder because it seems to be defective.- barzee

In my 2002 Jeep Liberty, the ignition lock cylinder was failing. With the key inserted, the cylinder would not turn. I learned from YouTube that if I tapped the back of the key with a mallet, the cylinder would turn again. That worked, but I figured the cylinder was failing and I needed to...- barzee
