Ok so I ended up scouring the 2004 service manual wiring diagrams and found that it should, at least on that year, splice into the negitive side of the #13 fuse circuit. So I found out which wire that was on the backside of the fuse box and spliced into it. Two days and so far so good. No dead...
Hmmm not a bad idea, I'll have to take a look after the kids get to bed shortly, are ther only two wires going into it aside from the mass of wires on the backside?
Hey Im installing an EVIC an I need to find a wire under the dash for always on power.
I've seen all the instal guides and sites and I have the three wires that splice into the obd2 connector taken care of.
It's just that last wire that in the guides say something along the lines of, "For...
So I've figured out a couple of things. I've figured out what everyone and all the directions have been saying all this time. :signs75: The wires splice into the various needed circuits for the EVIC on the factory harness... I can be dense at times I suppose, lol. I just never really looked at...
Thanks for the reply. Thanks for the directions... I still have a slight lack of understanding as to how to hook this thing up. According to the instructions, you splice the wires into existing wires.
How is the EVIC from the factory installed? Is there a connector that the wires are attached...
TLDR: Found a plug under my dash. What is it? Pics below.
So I've gotten myself an '05 KJ EVIC off Ebay and I've found several various instructions for hooking it up... Haven't really gotten too far into it as wiring schematics are not my forte and I also want to hook it up as close to "as...
For that price I'd consider getting an Atlas 2 from Advanced Adapters... It would be slightly more money if you install yourself. The install wouldn't be too bad I'd think... Or browse the junkyards for one in decent shape.
You could get a reman'd one for about 1k shipped... that way if you...
OK! Finally found my photos! Haha...
So here we are with a bit of wheeling. Haven't really had the time to do it the last few years much, but the tides are turning and should be able to get back out a bunch more pretty soon and in the foreseeable future. :icon_razz:
Started off as...
Has anyone tried installing those on a domestic KJ?
I've got a 2007 and was thinking to get a set as well as the leveling switch/dial for the dash to upgrade to the "Export Headlight Leveling System"
May need a different wiring harness as I assume the domestic harness doesn't have the correct...
Thanks for the response Tom... I was refering to either Napa or Moog Ball joints that are already used on the JBA UCAs, not the stock jeep UCAs.
Being rebuildable is definitely a difference as well as the mounting plate thickness... But is the angle different than either of the above...
I probably do somewhere... I'll have to look. If not, I'll take some in the next day or so and put them up... It's certainly nothing that hasn't been seen before though... haha. Looks pretty standard.
How is that angle better or different? It looks to be the same just with a cutout for extreme angles of extension or compression of the suspension. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'd like to know.
Regardless though, I'd like to pick a set pretty soon here as the thickness of that mounting plate will...
Fixin'er Up
So as I mentioned in my introduction post, I recently broke my second steering gear mount and needed to replace it. This time around I decided to do it myself and it wasn't too bad and actually relatively easy to do. I also was able to take some of the saved money and get any tools...
