I like my Goodyear Authorities, but can only get about 30,000 miles on them before they gotta be replaced.

I read your post....look up code p0870. If you read the OBD findings for a p0870 , I didn't see ANYTHING about a "shift pac" . I've attached what I think advisable for you to check. Please read the options to check.

I had to replace mine (03 Liberty) because we live in Wisconsin.....and it rusted a whole (several) in it. You can get them at O'Reilly's for $40 bucks....

The rod cap is a shear type and they don't have a location tab in the rod bearing. That's why they ALL spin a rod bearing. Another "new and improved" engineering achievement.

And have you checked it for sludge build up or anything like that yet ??

It's probably p0340 (cam sensor) that's why the oil change fixes it temporarily.

Thanks for the correct info on the build times SWilliams. You don't have any info on the rod bolts pre 06 as 6508504AA and after 06 as 6503928 ? I hear they both run from like 1998 to 2012 or so. I just can't find the difference in them. Thanks if anybody knows !

Back in the beginning you mentioned the TTY rod bolts. Do you know anything about the bolt part number change. They list it as 6508504AA for up to 2006. Then after, it comes up as 6503928. Both of them come up as M9x1,0x46.00 in size. Does anybody know if the number was replaced or superseded ...
