    Rapid heater core failure!

It went from a suspected smell of coolant from vents to blowing smoke out of the vents overnight! Looks like I have a leaking heater core... and I'm supposed to move tomorrow! Looks like I'll be taking my little s10 pickup and have to come back next week and fix it. My plan is to have the ac...

Which thermostat to use? Oem or aftermarket?

A little follow up, I used the factory Mopar thermostat, which comes with the gasket and it worked perfectly with no issues. Nothing like using factory parts, I had a six hour drive the day after towing a trailer and put about 1k miles on in the past week. So I was happy to be confident with a...

Which thermostat to use? Oem or aftermarket?

Here is an interesting article I stumbled across about thermostats, helped me understand them a little better :) http://www.superstreetonline.com/how-to/aftermarket-parts/1308-low-temp-thermostats/ I run a low temp thermostat in my 88 Bimmer 3 series, but for the Liberty it seems like...

Which thermostat to use? Oem or aftermarket?

Thanks guys, alas I went with the OEM part. My old boss is ordering it from Jeep, they deliver to his shop multiple times a day and he's just down the street. Will try and post some pics of the part and install!

Which thermostat to use? Oem or aftermarket?

Hi guys! My thermostat has been staying open when it should be shut, making the heater very cold and causing the temp to go to 1/4 on the gauge. Problem is I need to fix it TODAY, so I can move tomorrow to my new house six hours away haha. Figures right..? My local shop could order one from the...

    3.7 oil crud probelm

Black Death was a thing back before oil technology advanced now it's less common and only happens if oil changes are not done regularly :) Fluid maintenance is the best thing I've learned to keep up on over the years. As a service writer in a shop I was always about preventative maintenance...

    3.7 oil crud probelm

Hi conundrum! Sorry to hear your 3.7 is slipping towards the grip of Black Death. I had a worst possible case oil crud scenario with a Ram V10. I used the motor from a parts truck I bought out of impound for a swap (dumb). Oil was obviously never changed, no maintenance. The valve covers had...

    5x8 trailer behind a Liberty?

Good advice about flammability and foam turblediesel, thanks! Those tiny little wood stoves you mention are really cool. Have a friend who uses one to heat the old school bus he lives in and it works great. Thanks for the nice comments! I am really stoked to get out camping in this :) I joined...

    5x8 trailer behind a Liberty?

Cool. Sounds like a good improvement to make :) I also plan to add a water tank and a water heater for a sink and shower. Been looking at what others have done online and getting ideas!

    Jeep KJ370

It was just me :) not a difficult trail, just fun to fly through the river when it's raining. The road is cool, it's wide open for big dump trucks to drive on, could hit 100 there if you were motivated enough. I promise the next video will be extreme ;)

    Bump stops with minimal lift

Yea, replacing the rear springs when I did the front would have been the way to go. The main time it's been an issue is on rocky trails in the sierra's with the jeep fully loaded with dog, gear and two kayaks.. Then it takes a lot of finess not to bottom over the big rock gardens. Short of doing...

    5x8 trailer behind a Liberty?

We live on the coast, literally, on a cliff :) so pretty moderate. But camping in the mountains and stuff I'm sure it will see more extreme temperatures so would be worth it. Any ideas of what to insulate with?

    5x8 trailer behind a Liberty?

Walls are not insulated. Hopefully won't need it in California! I paid $1700.

    5x8 trailer behind a Liberty?

Finally got a trailer! Woohoo!!!! I was going to start with a blank and build it up myself but found this on Craigslist. It has solar panels on the roof and a 12v system with lights... :)

    Bump stops with minimal lift

In the back I left the high mile springs but installed kyb shocks. It's a little saggy :/

I'm not sure how to embed this, if anyone wants to help :) but here is a quick rally video of me in my KJ! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ac5xsGtHHCE

    Bump stops with minimal lift

Took me awhile but thank you guys for the replies. The strut spacers I am using are the 3/8" plates which mount above the upper strut bearing/spring plate to the unibody. They are external to the spring and shock, and bolted in on top of the Moog quick struts I put in when I got the Jeep.

    Bump stops with minimal lift

I barely have any lift on my 02 KJ. Just the strut spacers in front with new springs in front and new shocks all around. What bump stop setup would everyone recommend? How many hockey pucks in the back, and stock or terra flex bump stops for the front?
