    Ironman lift...2.5 years later

They shouldn't be. They were fine for 2 years with no rubbing. It's only started over the past 6 months...must have sagged just enough to rub. It's pretty minor rubbing too, tight turns in reverse only. My wife drives the jeep more than I do these days because my commute is much farther than...

    Ironman lift...2.5 years later

I measured again this morning. The rear is at 22" so no sag there. The front is at 20.25"...down from 21.5" when I first installed. And it looks like I have wear on the front bumpstops, looks like that's where my tire rubbing is happening.

    Ironman lift...2.5 years later

I have the regular coils...I was considering HD, but since I decided not to do a bull bar/winch, I just went with standard. I've put 34,000 miles on them, but mostly highway commuter miles. weekend warrior off-roading, but nothing too crazy because it is a daily driver and needs to survive for...

    Ironman lift...2.5 years later

I've had my ironman suspension on the jeep for about two and a half years, 34,000 miles and thought I would give a performance update. Also wanted to see how others have fared with the suspension/ how it's holding up compared to what people are finding with OME. My rear shocks and springs...

    General Grabber AT-2's

I'm running AT-2's on my KJ as well....no complaints so far, except that I did notice they have a bit of a break in period. I felt like I wasn't getting great traction until I had them on for a couple weeks. We had tons of snow this past winter and they performed very well. Honestly, if money...

    Helping finding a lift kit

Completely agree! Any kind of spacer lift is garbage and a waste of money. Definitely need to replace the coils, or else they'll be sagging again in 6 months. I have the ironman shocks and coils and I've been very happy with them. I've had the lift installed for almost 30,000 miles with no...

    Chasing a misfire...

Thanks for the ideas. I did the o2 sensor first since it needed to be changed anyway. That didn't solve the misfire, but it resolve the P0038 code and gave me a new misfire code...P0301. Once I had cylinder 1 pinpointed, I swapped that coil pack with an old one and that fixed the misfire. That...

    Chasing a misfire...

So, the jeep started idling rough and misfiring when I started it up yesterday morning. Ran the codes and it's just giving me a generic P0300 random/multiple misfire. Coil packs 1-5 are almost brand new. (they only had 5 in stock when I did the coil packs) I've just been waiting for #6 to go...

    Rear end noise

I checked the u-joints, lugnuts, rear diff, calipers, wheel bearings...all look good, everything is moving smoothly with the rear-end. The rear brakes and parking brake shoes seem to have fixed the original clunking noise I was getting. Now I think I have a front end problem. Have a feeling it...

    Rear end noise

Parking brake pads were definitely part of the problem. Took the rear brakes apart and on the drivers side the parking brake pad came off in pieces...on the passenger side it was just missing all together. Did new rotors, pads and parking brake shoes in the back and it definitely seems to have...

    Possible Recall 2002-2007?

If I remember correctly, factory two packages aren't exempt from the recall because they still want to inspect that the hitch is still in good shape and not rusted away etc..

    Rear end noise

Also...now that I'm thinking about it, maybe rear brakes are a possibility too. When it happened the first time I had just slowed down to turn onto another street and was accelerating again. Maybe a sticking brake caliper?

    Rear end noise

The sound definitely changes depending on speed. Sound gets faster as I press on the gas and slows when off the gas. But it doesn't start up around a specific speed. Comes and goes pretty randomly. I will be driving say 40mph and it will start up...I can slow to a stop and speed up again and the...

    Rear end noise

So a few weeks ago I'm driving for about 10-15 mins and started to get a knocking/thump coming from the rear end. Sounded like rear passenger. It seemed rotational, and had a "one and two and..." rhythm to it. I pulled over and checked out, nothing seemed wrong. Less than a mile down the road...

    Valve Spring Replaement

You're lucky it didn't cause any other damage. The '06 is known to have weak valve springs. I had one break on me. Dropped the valve, broke rocker arm...long story short I needed a full upper engine rebuild which ended up costing me about $3000. KJ had like 87,000 miles at the time. I'm at 105k...

    02 KJ from UConn!

Welcome...I don't see too many other lifted KJ's around CT. I'm not driving mine too much anymore these days though. I commute about 60 miles a day to Hartford and was going through like $500/mo in gas. So, sadly I had to pick up a more fuel friendly commuter vehicle for work...the wife...

    Help No Heat!

welcome...congrats on the jeep. First I would say to double check the dealer laws in your area. In CT the dealer is required by law to provide a minimum 30 day warranty, even if they say the vehicle is sold "as-is". As far as what the problem could be...you're basically saying that the A/C...

    High mileage club

103,500 miles...the last year has been expensive: 82,000 rear u-joint 83,000 re-built front driveshaft CV head 84,000 ironman suspension 84,200 new radiator 87,300 broken valve spring, dropped valve. Upper engine rebuild. All new valve springs and seals, rocker arm, head gasket, valve cover...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Changed the engine oil, then cracked open the rear diff, cleaned it out and changed the oil back there. It was way overdue... Adjusted the headlights on the wife's XJ too. They were basically pointing at the ground 5ft in front of the Jeep.

    Riding with rear hatch open

I do the same thing...just press the latch in so it thinks it's closed in the back. Make sure you have all the windows rolled down if you drive with the back open. Just the back open can create an air current that sucks exhaust into the jeep...and then you die. So, windows down. I always...
