40K Mile followup
Well life has gotten in the way of being active on the forums, but I figured I would chime in on this and get some opinions.
The dealership replaced the inner shaft and the CV just over a year and a half (~40k miles), and its back to making noises again! My Liberty is not...
I think I have it fixed.:whip: I changed out the esim. Luckily the dealerships in the area had them in stock and after it and the gasket and tax it was less than 12 bucks to fix. It has been driven a few days and the computer reports that it has completed the full evap system tests!:happy107...
Still on. I have bought 2 new caps. Always tighten to 2 or so clicks. I am thinking its the esim, does anyone know how to test or check it or should I just shell out some money and get one??
It started as just a gascap light, then went to mil codes 456 and 457 I think. I am checking all the...
Sorry everyone for the late reply, I have been traveling a lot recently for work.
Awesome reminder for everyone. I know we have a tendancy to forget to change them out. However, I changed them out when I bought the Jeep at 42k and she is just over 52k. I have plans on changing them next oil...
Tried it and its back on now with the check engine light agian.
I'm guessing This will be the root then. Here in Kansas we have been having 95+ degree weather I wonder if that is making it worse.
About a week ago my wife called me to let me know that the check engine light was on in our 08 Liberty with 50K on it. I was pissed and asked if it was driving ok or if she noticed anything odd. She said the odometer said gascap. She tightened it to a few clicks and restarted. It still said...
I know its a little late notice, but we are headed to the Littleton/Boulder/Winter Park area tomorrow night or friday for a week. Anyone want to try to meet up?
I know the competition says KJ, but here is my KK
This is my KK pulling an 18' car hauler with my daughter's new playset on it.
And here is one with her playing of the first stage of it.
Im not sure what they changed. All I know is I had reverse lights before I put it on then didnt after. So doing some digging I found one pin didn't match up on the two connections. I swithced them and they worked fine. Either way its working great now and because of your info I was able to save...
UPDATED Slight differences.
It turns out the wire harness is similar, but not the same. The reverse lights do not work as is. It is an easy fix tho. I wound up just switching the wires for the reverse lights at two locations. For anyone who wants to know its the white wire with the green...
Sorry for not updating everyone. It has been fixed. The Pass side CV was shot. I looked and could not see and tears in the boot or anything so its root cause has yet to be determined. I was able to keep the originals and when I have time I will take it apart and check it out. They changed both...
Where in Jersey are you? I was born and raised in Piscataway, and my brother is still there. I bet if you guys threw him some extra bucks for his hassle I could get him to ship stuff out for ya. Ill give him a call and let you guys know.
After playing phone tag for the day, the manager of used car relations has promised me that whatever it takes it will be taken care of. I do not have to take it to the dealership I bought it from(which is about an hour the other direction from my house then anywhere I normally go.) I explained...
Well I called the selling dealership (not a jeep dealership btw) and they said they may be able to replace it under warranty. He said it should have had a 3k mile warranty and I am at 2800. I will find out later today.
Does anyone know where I can get a good deal on one? I PM'd Eric last night, and was wondering if anyone else may cary them or have a PN so I can search or cross reference them. Anyone have a diagram and torque specs? If not I assume its similar to the KJ? I'm pretty sure they are both variants...
I bought it used a month ago. I think it had a 30 day 1,000 mile from them. Way past that. If it had any remaining factory is that automatically transferred?
Thats what I was afraid of. Im guessing I should do that intermediate shaft too while im in there. Has anyone had this same failure on the KK?? or one with only 44k miles on it?
