    The guys on here are only talking about the '05-'06 2.8 163hp CRD. The 2.5 was never sold in the US. The 2005+ is less reliable then the 2002-2004 models imo. After 2005 a crapload of electronics was added, with that an electrical EGR and a FCV. You cannot say CRD troubles from US...

    Unless it's an export 2002-2004...those did come with a lift pump. But since he's from FL it probably won't have one.

    The internal plastic crap gears in your FCV (Flow Control Valve) are broken. It now stays open all the time. You can disconnect it but then the CEL light in the dash ( engine trouble light) will come on. You can either ignore it, or replace the FCV.... What does this FCV do: It closes...
