The grilles mount differently between the '02-'04 and '05-'07s - the early ones have a few screws across the top, and the later ones have clips across the top. I found that out when I had to replace my wife's header panel.
Someone here may have one, otherwise try Craigslist for people parting out a KJ, or Ebay. I needed to replace the front left one on my wife's KJ a few years ago, and found one already painted silver on Ebay for $30 that came off a wrecked KJ. Good luck with the search!
I also ran those wheels for a few summers on my XJ, and didn't have any problems. You are correct about the bolt pattern issues, but I think the general feeling is .7mm is not really enough to bother anything - who knows what kind of tolerances these wheels are built to from the factory? I know...
I always have a hard time getting that stupid filter threaded on, because it's sort of a weird angle. Of course I'm spoiled though, because my XJ mounts the filter right on the side of the block and the filter on the small-block Chevy in my Monte is right next to the oil pan - both in plain...
Buongiorno - the Liberty must be a lot of fun on the hills up in your area!! Welcome to the forum - I love Italy. I've been to Positano and the Amalfi Coast twice; I haven't made it up North yet though. My wife was born in Calabria, and moved to the US with her family when she was 3. They still...
The 15" TJ Wrangler steel wheels are a very tight fit around the caliper -
IMO, I think you'd have more room with an alloy 15" Jeep rim, since they don't have the stepped lip that's interfering with the caliper on the inside.
Nice, trying the Jedi mind-trick, eh? ;)
I think that's a great deal if the rest of them are in decent shape. I scored a set of 5 for $225 a few months ago for my XJ and thought that was a bargain. Mine are in nice shape though, not really scratched up or anything.
Personally, I think they should have a mileage limitation on them - like if your vehicle has over 80K miles, then they shouldn't have to replace them under the recall. My wife's '03 KJ only has ~36K miles on it now, so if there is any wear or rusting on the ball joints, I have no problem with...
That's OK TBJ, I don't mind having the dealer do them for free. :) I just wish my local dealer was still in business - they closed every one that was close by and now it's a hike through 40 minutes of traffic to get to one.
That's where I found the cracked vacuum line on my wife's '03 KJ which gave us the same code. It was an easy fix! You can reset the light on your dash by disconnecting the battery for ~20 minutes, but if your state plugs in to scan OBII vehicles, that won't solve your issue - the truck will...
On my wife's '03, I had to loosen the front bumper cover since the header panel was clipped in to it - not sure on your model though. You'll also need to remove the headlight assemblies, wiring harness, and temp sensor, then swap them over to the new header panel and re-install.
That's called the header panel - and yes, that temp sensor there is for the overhead console. The header panel is the same for '05-'07 - I've seen those on Ebay too, or you can try getting it from a dealer. I've used the sponsor above - www.wyckoff-mopar-parts.com - with good success. They're...
