Can I go Front Wheel Drive?

Well, It became a necessity, and it worked fine. Absolutely zero fluid loss. I only went about 25 miles, top speed of 45, & pulled away from dead stops very delicately. I would not use this as anything other than an emergency maneuver. TJKJ, I think you are thinking of an older version of the...

Can I go Front Wheel Drive?

I just asked if you were sure. It still makes no sense on how the fluid will leak out. All though the FT system was my biggest concern, & why you've got me thinking that it isn't the best idea... Actually, now I want to try it, but I need this thing running before I leave for Denver next...

Can I go Front Wheel Drive?

You sure? I can't imagine how anything can leak out. The sleeve of the slip yoke remains completely outside of the t-case& has no gasket or any other way of sealing the rear of the case.

Can I go Front Wheel Drive?

Can I go Front Wheel Drive? I need to have a shop press in new u-joints on my rear drive shaft, but I only have use of the KJ tomorrow. So I'm thinking I could remove the rear drive shaft, & drive in 4WD, which would turn only the front wheels. I'll be driving less than 50 miles like this, & I...

Rear tow hook for 02 lib

When I put one on my 03, I ran a tap through the threads to knock all the rust & grime out first. After that, the bolts went in fine.

I think that our transmissions are all gears, with no bands. your symptoms are textbook drive shaft issues.

    Full Synthetic Oil

About 62% of total world production comes from the mid-east. while only 5% is from North America, & 9% from South America. So in the global market you are correct that most of the oil comes from states that we in the Western World should consider dangerous. We use mostly NA produced oil...

Is it possible that you could have had a chunk of ice stuck on the drive shaft throwing it out of balance? Maybe it has melted off?kopkrab.gif

If I lived someplace like Colorado Springs, I'd be more likely to do it, but as it stands, I have to drive on road for at least 3 hours to get to an approved area to off road... therefore spending $20-30 large on a hobby I can only participate in 4 maybe 5 times a year seems unwise for me.sad2.gif

    Full Synthetic Oil

Did not know that about the standard Mobil 1, good to know. The XL line is the same level as Castrol. Amsoil dosen't claim it to be 100% synthetic like they do for their other lines Read the descriptions, & notice that they claim the XL is synthetic, but the other is 100% synthetic. I've also...

    Full Synthetic Oil

Negative, It's not just the blends. Most oils in the US labeled as synthetic are based on organic oil. Mobil 1, Amsoil (except their XL line) & Redline are true synthetics. Most of the others are just a highly refined version of the dino stuff. Mobil took Castrol to court over the issue. The...

    Full Synthetic Oil

Depends on which numbers you look at. Totals from the DOE site says 4850 thousand barrels a day for 2007 from North America, 4699 from the rest for 2007. 4850>4699 YTD 2007. 2008 YTD totals are NA=4621 & the rest 4892. But if you look at the header these 2008 numbers only include numbers from...

    Full Synthetic Oil

Most of our oil comes from North America: Canada, Mexico, & even the US. And most oils that claim to be "Synthetic" are actually made from organic crude oil. We just can't avoid it.
