    Sunroof (Not Skyslider)

Yes, check the drains. Then the gasket around the sunroof itself. Mine was in the hot sun in a near liquid state. dc

2011 Liberty rough idle after start then dies (VIDEO)

Sounds like fuel starvation. I'd check fuel pressure. Could be dirty injectors or bad injectors. Try to find out what it is not. Check answers to previous similar threads below. dc

    Sunroof (Not Skyslider)

One issue I have come to. Which way does the seal go. Wide side up or down? The old one was slightly different and had ridges along it. And was so messed up I couldn't tell if it had an up or down bulge. dc

    Sunroof (Not Skyslider)

I happened to take a look at the seal around my sunroof 2009 Liberty Limited and found that it was grossly cracked and crumbled. So today when I received the replacement seal from the cheapest discount seller today, I set out to take out the sunroof and replace the seal. What a mess. Whatever...

Is there a 2012 KK tune for better MPGs?

I put in a set of Bosch fuel injectors and got a mile or two better. But, the basic engine design can't be much changed. So it will still use a good deal of gas compared to some of the newer cars dc

Check Engine Light on Trail - then Blink and Beep

I'm not too old yet. And throughout the years I have had many people tell me about even the simplest repairs that they were "scared" to do them rather than take them to the dealer. I never had such fears, and I'm not saying you do. As to parts and tools, I too am in a remote extremely...

Check Engine Light on Trail - then Blink and Beep

So you are assuming that someone actually put Stop Leak in there? I don't know that. I do know it is possible. I haven't drained the radiator yet to see if there is any evidence of that. I don't know the heater core is plugged. It's possible. I don't know if there is a thermostat in...

Check Engine Light on Trail - then Blink and Beep

It would be nice if the only thing I had to do with my life was work on my car. But even then, I'd do other things. I was thinking, I wonder if I ever had the dealer do anything to any car I ever owned, maybe before you were born, but no, not even then. In fact, I never in my life of more...

Yes, I am looking for any little thing first. Then the more serious items. Thanks for the replies. dc

Check Engine Light on Trail - then Blink and Beep

Yes, it's terrible. Nothing but a cheap attempt to cover up a big problem. And it's one of the best friends of the used car sales person, or person selling a used car. Can be used to cover up a leaky head gasket. I hope that's not my case, but it could be. That's why my original plan was...

Check Engine Light on Trail - then Blink and Beep

Plugs new 3000 miles ago. Battery voltage is going to be one of my first checks. Also PCM reset. I never did check parasitic draw. Sunroof circuit, could be a parasitic draw, and it could be battery/charger, but if so, why would it not stall out? Coils, I'll look at. I seem to have had...

Just Lost Engine get hot and has electrical problems

Seems to me, you should only need the clutch and fan (mechanical) if you are towing. If it's running hot, wouldn't it be better to find the issue and fix it? Like if the water pump is not working, fix that? Or thermostat is off, too high, or out? Etc? dc

Check Engine Light on Trail - then Blink and Beep

Saturday, Dec 4 I drove 100 miles to a trail head. Got gas, and the shut off didn't work so gas spilled down the side of Jeep, as happened at same station a month ago. 2008 Liberty Limited. Onto the trail about 25 miles and ... check engine light. And rough running. Put the Autel code...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Saturday, the 6th. Went down to Torrey, Utah, and east to the Cathedral Valley loop. 70 miles of off road, starts with driving down the river to cross it. Dirt, gravel, sand, dry wash crossings, wet wash crossings. and fantastic scenery. Red rock sandstone formations. A little rock...

New Owner Essential Checks and Servicing

I would say everything. I say don't over look anything. Don't think anything is good. Anything that can be serviced, new oil, etc. Anything. Depending on your meteorological location get winter capable windshield washer fluid. dc

What did you do to your jeep today?

Drove the Jeep to work all week as I was waiting for a downstream O2 sensor and ELD for the Honda. I like it, but it's 20 mpg instead of 40 mpg, and I'm well known as cheap. Put a little brake fluid in the Jeep. It looks dirty in there. Now that the Honda is back on the road I need to get...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Wednesday, drove to work. Saturday had the trailer on with ATV on trailer. 75 miles, parked and went up a trail to the Paiute trail. Rugged, steep, rocky, rutty with water crossings. Got up to about 10,000 feet and sat and ate lunch while looking at a bald mountain much higher up, well...

    Tire Browning

Just another reason why I hate tire gloss and glossy tires. But, turned brown? Ugh. Of all the colors in the world for them to turn. Brown? Could be worse I suppose. Pink? How about some type of black. Maybe shoe polish? dc

    Proper Pressure

Oh, and check the air on a regular basis. Don't just assume the air goes in there on it's own. It don't. And no, you don't need to go to a "professional" to have the air checked.
