Got the front diff done and for good measure did the transfer case fluid. The engine oil was done about two weeks ago. Going to do a power steering flush and I think I will be OK. I am taking it to the dealer in a couple weeks for the radiator flush. I think I am running out of fluids to...- profdlp

Went out with fresh eyes today. Tried cleaning the housing threads and the bolts but this did not get me very far. I have a tap & die set coming tomorrow. In the meanwhile, I added a few washers to the two stubborn holdout bolts and was able to snug them up nicely. Frankly, that really is...- profdlp

The cover itself is solid as a rock and all the parts (drain plug, fill plug, and bolts) seem to be extremely well machined. I suspect they put some kind of thread-lock finish on the bolts. (Which is perhaps why running a nut up and down them improved matters - I wore some of that stuff off.)...- profdlp

Never in my life did I think that changing the rear diff oil would turn into an all-afternoon experience. I had no trouble getting the old oil out. It actually looked beautiful, a fact that would come to haunt me as the day wore on. Got everything cleaned up and went to install my new ARB...- profdlp

Gear Oil Question
What kind of a fanatic freezes their stinkin' gear oil?!!!!! o_O o_O o_O Actually - that is a brilliant idea, and I bet you feel better in the winter knowing the stuff is not sitting in there like pine sap. Gear Oil Question
My manual says the rear diff should get 75W-90 (Synthetic) for normal use and 75W-140 when towing. I don't tow all that often but it is not that rare of an occurrence either. Getting ready to change it and not sure what to buy.- profdlp

HOW TO: Replace the PCV Valve on (Some) 2007 and up Jeep Liberty
Just replaced the one I did eight years ago. (47,000 miles on the Jeep in that time.) I can confirm it is 34 mm. This was only the second time I've had it out of the toolbox! :D -
