What did you do to your jeep today?

been studying videos on how to replace the solenoid pack on the 42RLE, with the trans still in the jeep. you know, it doesn't look like THAT bad a job. and the part isn't terribly expensive (< $100.) i'm betting I give it a shot in the not too distant future.

What did you do to your jeep today?

06 khaki: driver's seat belt latch, the red button part sits down inside it instead of popping up, and it's troublesome to get it to actually latch. I sprayed some WD40 in it and worked it like 50 times, and it seemed better, but now it's getting worse. any thoughts on how to fix it?

interesting. I've got lifetime alignment from firestone on all my rigs. occasionally I have to take it back, but as of late they've been good.

while I successfully did it, I do NOT recommend attempting to swap the hatch glass by yourself. get a friend. two would be even better.

What did you do to your jeep today?

cats from the 65th are now in the khaki jeep. scan tool says all is working well. only the EVAP monitor hasn't set. trans continues to try and pop a P0740 for the trans and P0700 for the ECU, but I can clear the former which deletes the latter without screwing with the readiness monitors. if...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I bet that's why sometimes the scan tool would show the downstream working right, then others show it as if the cat was totally dead. I bet parts are moving around and sometimes allow gases to pass completely by the matrix.

    Engine needed ....

I think it's perfectly normal to go out and spend under $1,000 on an entire car to use it for nothing more than parts for your current cars.

What did you do to your jeep today?

got back on the khaki jeep today. pulled the cats out of it. oh yea, the passenger one is bad. it shouldn't rattle and bits of converter shouldn't fall out of it. gonna go steal the newish ones out of the 65th anniversary. definitely decided to make it a parts jeep.

    Engine needed ....

picked up the 06 silver 65th anniversary for $800, with a ton of new parts on it, because it had a dead cylinder. turned out to be a kicked rocker. the 06 khaki was $700, and it needed plugs to get working right. might have a bad trans (no converter lockup), and may needs cats, which i'll...

    sas calibration

I'm pulling this from foggy memory, from when I had to do a re-cal on an SAS for a jeep here, based on what my scan tool told me to do... in a large parking lot with the engine running... turn the wheel clockwise to lock turn the wheel counterclockwise to lock center the wheel drive straight...

    4.10 KJ gears both axles

I am local. I'm debating offer him less, since based on the comments I'd be expecting a sh*t show in picking it up.

What did you do to your jeep today?

now THAT is a critical piece of info, it being a reman. do you have a back story on that as well? granted i've only ever done it once myself, but I had a bad experience with a reman engine once. never again. so if I have it somewhat right... you bought the jeep with 24k on it. at about 86k the...

What did you do to your jeep today?

are you the original owner of this jeep? that sounds like a lot of fail in a single engine, if it's been properly maintained.
