Question for the JK peeps: Is the 3.8 good, bad or ugly?

With the correct gearing for your tire and suspension setup, and a 6 speed tranny like I have, you will find you have enough power to get the job done. The 3.8 is a fine motor. The people that do the HEMI swaps will be spending more money on broken parts along the way as well. This alone makes...

    electrical prob already

Well, here we go. I went to the dealership and they said they had no idea why it is doing that. They checked everything mentioned on the tsb, even though it did not fit into the build date catagory, everything was like it should be. They checked for signs of a water leak, no leaks. I actually...

    electrical prob already

Well, they got it in and found signs of a water leak that may be causing it. they also have the tsb info that I supplied to them and they are going to take care of that as well. I hope they figure out where the leak is coming from, it seems that we can't get anything but rain here in Arkansas...

    electrical prob already

I actually found a tsb on it (tsb # 08-022-07) but the build date does not fall into that catagory, but we all know that means nothing. I also found where some folks have said it happens because water is getting into the place where the electronics to the gate switch is and it is messing with...

    electrical prob already

Far from new to the Jeep world, just all of these Damn electronics I guess. Oh well, I think I'll have a beer and think about it later,.....That is the easy go lucky attitude that being a Jeep owner has forced me to acquire over the years. (That is not a bad thing of course.)

My gate is closed and my key or the button on my gate will not open my glass. I open the gate and shut it, still displaying the message. Driving back to work the message...

    air lockers w/ selec-trac ll

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'm just new to the whole 4wd-auto and was not sure how it would react with the computer. I knew with my JK it was alright because it was basically 4wd lock hi and low Still,......these new electronics throw me off a bit. I guess that is why you guys are here...

    air lockers w/ selec-trac ll

Yeah, I forgot to mention that I was looking into ARB air lockers. I do understand that you have to be in 4-wheel drive to engage. What I really did not quite understand was the fact that the selec-trac ll on the 08 and up kk is a bit different than the 07 and down kj. The selec-trac on the...

    air lockers w/ selec-trac ll

Hello everyone, new to the forum. I guess we will get straight to business. I have the selec-trac ll system and I was wondering if you had to be in 4-low before engaging the lockers. I would assume that is the case since the computer determines which wheels need power in 4-auto. I came to the...
