    Got the KJ ;)

Actually, the picture doesn't show the snow flying, but it actually was thrashing the snow at that point. The webcam detects motion, so that picture was snapped as I was pulling into the driveway.. and uhm.. I kinda don't like shoveling or plowing the driveway, since we now have 3 Jeeps, a Land...

    Got the KJ ;)

Well, the "new" KJ is in the driveway. I can't register it probably until mid-next week, and it's salty and covered in ice - but.. It's HOME, and fully paid for ;) It's for my wife, and she has no idea it's here. She doesnt think we are getting it for a couple weeks. She'll be pleasently...

    GM to buy Chrysler?

Yea, but as I heard the related news story, Daimler wants to be rid of the Chrysler auto maker, not the whole group, due to failing sales. I think they would keep Jeep and Dodge. "Dr. Z" said that they would do whatever is best for both Chrysler and Daimler Chrysler, even if that meant cutting...

    GM to buy Chrysler?

The whole engine would be much more fun.

    oil change & flushing --BOGUS?

Is this the same Jeep as akof posted about? If so, no matter how cruddy the oil the flushed your engine out with, it's not going to cause the transfer case linkage to break.

    Down to Two

Well, KJ is kinda cute. Just get a manly color, and maybe put some accessories like brush guard or get the light bar, and some aggressive tires, then it's not as cute.

    Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVO Review

I put the revo's on my wife's Land Rover Discovery about 10,000 miles ago. Now that she's getting rid of that money pit and getting a Liberty, The tires are still in EXCELLENT shape, so they WILL be swapped over. Those tires are great tires. The only tire I might reccomend more is the BF...

    Down to Two

Oh, and as for manual transmissions, It's all I ever drive. The 04 we are buying has the 5 speed. I've test driven the 6 speed, and except for being really awkward shifting into 6th gear, it seemed like a nice, smooth unit. I don't know much about the long term reliability of the unit, but I...

    Down to Two

Colorado is way underpowered. a 5 cylinder motor just does not have the grunt that a pickup truck needs - unless you course you never plan to use it for anything besides a "car". I cant so much comment on the Liberty as I havent taken delivery of mine yet (well, for my wife) - But I'll tell...

4-Hi.....How Do U Know When Safe To Use?

It might help you more to understand when you can use it if you understand how it works. When you put a vehicle without a "selec-trac" type option into 4wd, you lock the rear wheels and the front wheels together. That means that they HAVE to spin at the exact same speed. If you are on dry...

Buying a 2004 Sport this week!

I actually suspect odometer fraud. You can't "roll it back" but there isn't much stopping you from disconnecting the VSS. 27,000 miles on a 2003 just seemed way to low - Sure, as pointed out, it's not out of the question, but i consider it odd. It is 4x4, just not the Select Trac, which...

Buying a 2004 Sport this week!

Well, the factory 7/70 power train warranty was canceled by Chrysler, for reasons that Chrysler would not tell me, so it could not be transfered. So I wanted them to double the 60 day 3000 mile warranty that they give on all used cars (by law) - Or to give me HIS PRICE on a third party full...

Buying a 2004 Sport this week!

Funny thing is, I knonw he's had this thing on his lot since the beginning of october (did a carfax on it) - So I really figured he'd be in a hurry to get rid of the thing. I mean, how often do you find a buyer for a manual shift Liberty? Most people want automatics. Oh well, the 04 will be...

Buying a 2004 Sport this week!

First thanks to all that replied to my threads regarding noisy motors and my choice of the 03 or the 04. It was unanimous to choose the 03 with the lower miles, but unfortunatley, that deal fell through at the dealer, due mostly to the fact that they were unwilling to negotiate some very...

    Buying used KJ.. Noisy motor?

Excellent guys, thanks for the input. I drove a third one and it made the same noise, so I'm pretty set on it. It also has not broken 25 degrees here in nearly a month, so I'm sure the cold does not help.. although.. ahem.. I havent driven my 93 YJ in over a month of sitting in the ice cold...

    Keyless on 03 models?

OK Guys.. One more question before I go buy this KJ this afternoon, then I can start picking your brains over every other little problem I come up with (hopefully none!) Anyway.. Thanks for the help choosing the 03 over the 04 model, I think you've helped me make a good choice. One issue...

    2003 or 2004?

Yea.. don't I know it. We spent hours scouring the internet over a very large area. You'd be surprised how many dealers I walked into that said in their ad that they had a Liberty with a manual transmission, but in person tried to tell me that "There is no such thing!".. grumble... Over all...

    2003 or 2004?

I'm looking at 2 KJ's for my wife. Both are pretty equal: Sport, Sunroof, 5 Speed Manual, V6, 4wd, ABS, Cloth interior. The 2003 has 27,000 miles, the 2004 has 55,000 miles. All things considered equal (the 03 is slightly more expensive, but pretty close in price) Would you rather have...
