Looking for metal impeller water pump?

Good to hear that they aren't a 100k item. The last vehicle I owned with a composite pump was a '98 BMW 3-series, they were known for letting go around 100k (shaft spins but the impeller doesn't). Those old inline 6 aluminum heads didn't take much overheating to warp and pop the head gasket...

Possible head gasket leak please help

What Bob said. This is normal for the KJ, but can be exasperated by several things. 1) A bad PCV will cause it to get worse and cause oil usage as well. They are cheap and easy enough to replace. 2) The oil filler neck baffle is most likely missing. These must be removed when you change the...

    What's growling at me?

You have angered the badger! :happy175: It's hard to say, you can pop off the glove box by opening it and then pressing in on the sides to release the tabs. This will cause it to fold all the way down, at which point you can slide it to one side and it will pop off the hinge. Pretty...

Looking for metal impeller water pump?

I didn't realize we had composite impeller pumps. Crud. Tend to fail around 100k, right?

Drove it to the bar. Almost forgot how much I hate my job. Buy!

What did you do to your jeep today?

Changed the oil and air filter. First oil change was at about 76k miles, currently sitting at 82.1k, so I put about 6k on the old oil. It was down half a quart, no signs of metal in the pan. The oil was pretty dark, but didn't seem any more viscous than fresh oil (cold engine) and smelled like...

Oh, right! You're the guy who makes that sweet looking front bumper and rear bumper with the tire swing and Jerry can mount? Yeah, we'll be talking some day. Hopefully soon...ish. :favorites13:

    05 Seats into an 06

There may be some slight differences in wiring harnesses, especially if your adding power seats or heated seats to a vehicle that didn't have them previously, but otherwise it'll bolt right in.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Nice! How hard are these to install on Jeeps that didn't have them stock? Fairly certain the behind-the-dash wiring is there for it. I'm guessing it requires a steady hand with a drill?

    Just a tid-bit

I imagine, my parents used to have a place on Manistique Lake in Curtis, Mi. Now they have property and park their travel trailer on it. Portable cabin? Guess it works, and it was cheap too (it's nearly as old as me, but in great shape). The snowmobile trails in that area are... extensive...

Had that exact problem in the UP. Thankfully there was a big enough gap between the larger trees to fit the KJ, so we went around it. Had to push over a few smaller trees though. :( Next time I'm up there, I'm going to keep an eye open for your KJ in town. I kind of want to say I may have saw...

    06 kj mo

Howdy John! :happy160: I've seen a lot of KJs set up for just what your doing. When I was shopping for mine, pretty much every single CRD I looked at had a tow bar, or indications one had been installed, on it. Roughly half the gas ones did as well.

Jeep 2015 late-summer vacation to Michigan

Yeah, it's a beautiful area up there. If I could get a job up there, I'd move in a heartbeat. We used to vacation in the area a lot when I was younger, and my brother goes to school in Marquette (I did a stint at Lake State in Sault Ste Marie). The sand up there is a menace! Super fine and...
