Considering KJ purchase, seeking feedback on certain things

The UK CRD is a 6 speed manual with 4WD only really useable in loose conditions. The CRD with Auto is far stronger with part and full time 4wd options. Noise wise I have only driven about 50 miles so far and apart from a cold start this morning once on open roads the engine settles down to a...

    Finally brought her home

OK so tonight after leaving work a little early I went and collected my new Cherokee version KJ CRD Limited Auto. I picked Bright silver and the dealer has re-trimmed the seats in a superb silver grey Montana (BMW) hide from Bridge of Weir. He even managed to embroider the logo onto the front...

    Liberty Sport Special Edition

We don't get the "Oh *hit" bar in the UK and I was wondering if it could be retrofitted as it looks cool in the American version however as we drive on the other side it probably is both handed and sided too! I suspect that the pic may be a bit misleading if the windows switches have moved too...

    Lighting

Side markers are included within the main headlamp unit the large amber front facing light units act only as turn signal units the tiny ones right in front of the front wheel to the side as a reflector and are not lit at all. I intend to get the American ones and illuminate them.

    Lighting

need advice from my American friends. on the 05 Libby, there are amber cruise lights in front of the front wheels, these as blank amber reflectors inoperative on UK versions. I can and am seeking the American ones and will wire them into the lighting circuit, but,,,, the rear Is the rear light...

    New Liberty / Cherokee nose

Thank goodness for that, I really like the Renegade nose on that model with all the add ons and extras but the "bug eyes" look of the normal model is a cute touch on one of the worlds toughest off roaders that made it so friendly to my wife's eyes. It was just when i saw that as a separate model...

    New Liberty / Cherokee nose

I was having a sniff round the jeep.co.uk site as I am "STILL" impatiently awaiting my CRD to be retrimmed in leather, however on the animated shot I saw a strange thing, a KJ Limited with what is almost certainly a Renegade nose! Anyone else spotted this and anyone know why? If I just...

    Goodyear Wrangler S4

Our new Kj CRD Ltd has 235/65 x 17 Wrangler S4 all round, anyone had the opportunity to try these in snow / mud or in a little "soft"roading? Long term they will get replaced by much more agressive looking rubber but for now these will have to do.

    Ayrshire trails

Any fellow Scot (or anywhere's if you are in the area for that) KJ owners interested in the Glen Trool Forest or Cairn Edward trails? They are easy, easy, on the main track but there are plenty of interesting side lanes with some thought provoking obstacles, mud water etc, . I ran both my...

    CRD geek time

The 3.0 CRD V6 is another refugee Mercedes engine though this time it is a brand new engine launched across the Merc range simoltaneously, it is a muscular lump for sure and sounds very rich and creamy for a diesel, enough to make the V6 CRD as quick to 60 as the 4.7 V8 It is not intended for...

Explanation of the Command trac and select trac

As the Jeep wil be driven almost exclusively by my wife and as we get a whole heap of bad weather and (finally) as it is an auto CRD and has Selec-trac it will run in 4 Full-Time during the wet Scottish winter months when I drive I will run 2WD unless it's terrible, that seems to be te logical...

    Let's See Your Revos!

I had the same Bridgestone "Revo's" 235/70 x 16 on my 98 Grand Ltd, once the Goodyear H/P's were done, they were far superior especially in snow. In the UK the CRD Ltd comes with Goodyear but its the new A/T on a 235/65 x 17 size they look reasonably cool but as soon as they are done I will be...

How did you first find your KJ?

Wife had had a few "Sporty" numbers last was a mitsubishi FTO 2.0 V6 MIVEC (2.0 litre 200HP little sister to the GTO for those who wonder) She had a run in with a refuse collection truck who "didn't see her" that and pregnancy changed her view to a 4x4 but it had to be Automatic and have A/C...
